Fallout Equestria: What Happens Now? Art Work Contest Rules and Entries · 5:27am Apr 30th, 2015
If you are reading this blog post then you saw my post on either the Shameless Self Promotion Group, Self Promotion Group, Adventure Fics of All Types Group, Rouge Bronydom Group, Struggling Author's Group, or Fallout: Equestria Related Fics group. It also means you are interested in making a title page for my up and coming Fallout Equestria side story, What Happens Now?
What I am looking for specifically is an over head view of the protagonists of the story examining a map of the Equestria Wasteland. Preferably I would like them to be in a circle around the map. Their descriptions are as follows:
Flash Light: Adult Mare Earth Pony, messy purple mane and blue fur, wears a black leather jacket. This character must specifically be pointing at the northern section of the Equestrian Wasteland.
Skrach: Adult Griffon Male, wears full body Griffon Power Armor. Helmet is up to the artist's descression.
Zee: Adult Mare Unicorn (Actually a Zony) Unkempt teal mane and fur. Can wear glasses.
Winona: Adult Dog, brown and white terrier, though other breeds are possible. This one must be by Flash Light's side.
Sweetie Bot: Robot Filly, this one speaks for itself. A mechanical filly that resembles Sweetie Belle.
Speedy: Adult Stallion Pegasus Pony, Short red mane and brown fur. Wears an Enclave uniform. Use the uniforms from the Fallout Setting as a basis. One last thing about this character, if your artwork shows the entire body of the character, this one must be missing his tail.
So a lot has been covered. If there is any additions you feel will add to the artwork, please include it and I will take it into consideration. I may have ideas of what the cover art should look like, but that doesn't mean you can't add your own flavor to it too.
Now here comes the deadline. Right now I am still working on not only the skeletal framework of What Happens Now? but I am also in the middle of a story right now, Beating An Undead Pony. I also realize that art work, especially art work with specifics, takes time to make. So I am going to be accepting submissions until June 1st. The winner will, of course, become the cover art for the story as well as my new profile image, however the rest will be added in a special post for all to see.
Now comes something that I may have to speak with the winning artist personally about, but their is also an idea that I have been throwing around in my head for a while. Including epilogue slides for the story after the finale, much like how it is handled in the games themselves. If the winner of the cover art contest is not able to do so, I will hold another contest to see if anyone is interested. Or alternatively the epilogue won't include images. It is still just a thought.
For those of you who are interested in artwork for me, you can contact me by linking the art work to either this blog page, or a PM. And if you have questions do not hesitate to ask.
Just thought I'd say not many would be interested in a contest without a prize, less so in doing cover art for someone, especially with so many conditions and a deadline to boot. Artists just don't work that way. My advice? Put up a polite request or commission someone for a cover. Alternatively publish the story first and make a request if and when your story is successful. Artists are more likely to respond for successful stories. Good luck getting cover art.
