Some Other Story Ideas I've Had (+ Minor Story Update) · 9:41am Jul 14th, 2012
As I said in my previous blog post, I told you I'd try and make it up to you in my next one, so here's my treat to you. It's a bunch of ideas and summaries of other FanFictions I had in mind that I want to do but most likely will never do. So sit back, relax, and enjoy my great wall of text.
Hλlf-Life;Hλlf-Pony
- The story takes place in an alternate timeline of the Half-Life series by Valve. Every game is canon up until the endy bit of Half Life 2 Episode 2. The rocket launch goes wrong and transports White Forest and Combine Forces into Equestria, locking it into an ultimate battle of good, evil, and conquest. There are a few things that make it a little different from the normal Half Life fanfic.
-- Much like what Fallout Equestria did to the Fallout series, my fanfiction would try to take the reader out of the thinking that they’re video game characters and put them into situations that would seem very unlikely in their source material (Ex. Lilpip gets addicted to Party Time Mintals and must pay the consequences in a very realistic and horrifying manner. I would do the same to the rebels and main characters; tear them apart to the brink of crying for them. But my writing skill isn’t that high and I doubt I’d ever do something as successful as Fallout Equestria.)
-- The original sources keep their original shapes. Whenever there’s a crossover fanfic, it bugs me so much when no one takes note of the differences in how their worlds look (Unless its done for comical reasons). The ponies remain in their bold lines and bright color palette while the HL2 characters remain in their polygonal very dirty-ish looking colors and shapes. This becomes important later on when the Combine and Rebels have to start harvesting their surroundings to fight each other, giving it a ‘Worlds Collide’ type of feel.
-- Chapters would be parodies of actual chapters from the HL series. (Black Mesa Inbound = Crossover Inbound; A Pink Cupcake Day = A Red Letter Day; We Don’t Go to Ponyville = We Don’t Go to Ravenholm, etc.)
-- Perspective would shift from a third person perspective of all ponies to a third person perspective of Gordon Freeman since writing in first person would be hard as hell, especially with all the exposition dumps needed in first person.
- Equestria is completely ravaged to the brink of death. Kind of like Fallout Equestria, except during the time when the bombs fell on everypony and the story focused on everypony during those confusing horrifyingly terrible hours that followed the megaspell radiation.
My Little Eddy
- A crossover with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and one of my all-time favorite TV shows Ed Edd n Eddy, although neither the real Eds or real ponies meet each other. Let me explain.
-- Double D and Eddy require Ed’s help in another one of their scams. They need him to lift a few heavy things ontop of some boxes for it to work. He hasn’t been seen for days, even by Sarah (Which she takes as a blessing). When the two Eds go to investigate, they find his window boarded up from the inside. However, they do hear faint sounds of what seems to be the television running and Ed laughing. Believing it’s just another thing Ed got himself stuck into, the two Eds sneak into his room at night. Breaking the door open, all they see are PONIES. Ed has discovered the wonderfulness of the show My Little pony: Friendship is Magic. He even sold his comic book and movie collection to get a rather inexpensive PC and internet connection so he could keep in touch with the Brony universe. Eddy tried to beat the sense back into Ed that he’s a man while Edd defends Ed’s actions saying that it’s his chosen path and that he is proud of Ed. Double D convinced Eddy to lay off Ed, but in his small cranium, Eddy fixes up a plan to get the old and non-Brony Ed back.
-- Word gets out of Ed being a Brony, and he is met with the normal weirdo type of status. But like an infection, the Brony phenomenon spreads throughout the Cul-de-Sac, infecting everybody except Eddy.
--From that point on, it either spread one of two directions:
---A) Eddy sees the potential money to be made in Brony merchandise so he and everyone else packs their bags and heads for Bronycon. While everyone else is off enjoying the con, Eddy tries to sell cheaply made pony items. Things don’t go well for him. Ed and Nazz, however, seem to be getting along nicely in the panels and discussion boards. They seem to have a talent impersonating Soarin’s and Rarity’s voices (Get it? Their original voice actors), which is what a couple of fan video games need, and so they get paid to do stuff and this and that and soon enough they become well known in the Brony community, getting both fame and donations to help continue their work, leaving a very proud Edd and dumbstruck Eddy behind to think about what they’ve learned. And I think Eddy’s Friendship report needs to be seen…
“Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I learned that FRIENDSHIP’S STUPID. It stole my fame and fortune that I DESERVE!
Your faithful student,
Eddy
PS: I require compensation. Quarters or jawbreakers will be fine as a payment.”
--B) Eddy goes to the Kankers of all places and actually pays them to knock some sense back into the Cul-de-Sac. They pretty much become the trolls, haters, and anti-fandom that MLP knows too well. As they terrorize the Cul-de-Sac into going back to their original lives, Eddy starts to grow an attachment to the show and makes the cankers go lightly on the Cul-de-Sac. Kankers do not take this lightly as they feel like they’ve been cheated, and try to imagine the scenario from the Big Picture Show played out again. You know, the battle between the kids and Eddy’s Brother/Johnny…I mean Melonhead. After fighting off the Kankers, Eddy finally accepts that he’s a Brony and they all live happily ever after.
- Man, why do I have such an attachment to creating crossovers?
Doing Equestria
- Another 1st person clopfiction, except on a much grander scale. Imagine my Chrysalis story except as an epic. I mean it includes almost everypony and may be 40+ chapters long with each chapter focusing on a single pony/group of ponies
- Basically I end up in Equestria and start to live amongst the ponies. I start a job where I do random chores for the ponies of Ponyville, whether it be painting a wall, watering the plants, whatever to pay for food, rent, and clothes. After a slight mishap, the job takes a sudden turn in the other direction as I start doing other favors for Equestrian Citizens.
- Some chapter Names include:
Library Closes at Twilight (Twilight Sparkle)
Sweet Sounds and Sweet Treats (Lyra and BonBon)
Show Stopping Abilities (Trixie)
High Anticipations (The Wonderbolts)
Appreciating the Classics (Octavia)
Day Before Night (Celestia)
Beautiful Lunar View (Luna)
Showered with Diamonds (Rainbow Dash)
Icing on the Cake (Pinkie Pie)
EVERYPONY [Everypony from each chapter before takes in an all-out orgy. Yummy](Final Countdown to Destruction
Puns. Puns everywhere.
Also the next chapter for Chrysalis is done. My morale has improved and the chapter's overall quality should of improved too, but still being bed ridden from the sickness, I don't have a lot of time to edit out all mistakes, so there may be a few left in there. Also, it is largely an exposition dumping point and, as a result of that, has become my longest chapter yet. Hope you guys can endure it, as I tried to make the exposition dump as interesting as possible!
Expect it within 8-10 hours of this post.
I had an idea for an Ed Edd n' Eddy crossover, but I didn't go through with it.
