"I'm ready! I'm ready! I'm ready!"
-Spongebob Squarepants
Story
It's Patricks birthday and Spongebob want's to give the greatest present ever, autographs from Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. However, they want nothing with him so they send him away doing some errands like making a sandwich and getting some new costumes.
Yes it's silly and simple but I don't anything with it. It's nice for a story to not involve imminent doom every once and a while. The only probelm is that Sandy and Mr.Krabs are shoved in for no reason and Manray is just a generic enemy.
Gameplay
This is a 2D platformer where you have to find the item for the superheroes. You attack enemies with either a butt bounce attack or some weapons you find like the jellyfish net or launcher. One hint I'll give you is to remove the reef blower when you're done with as it has an effect on your controls. The hit system is like the sonic games in which you collect spatulas and when you get hit, you lose them all and another hit kills you, and there's only 100 in each level. I would say that the final level and boss are very easy compared to the rest of the game.
Presentation
I have mix things to about the presentation. The music is okay and the voice acting's good, except for Mr.Krabs who sounds terrible. The game has a pseudo 3D thing going on which I find cool. I wish they decided what kind of sprite style they wanted becuase the enemies look weird, some are cartoonish with the outlines but others have this awkward look to them that feels out of place.
Verdict
It's a pretty average game, but I see nothing majorly wrong with it.
