Is Fanfiction Worth It Anymore? · 9:57pm Mar 15th, 2015
Jerry Peet has become an interesting influence in my life recently. As have a few other members of the analytical community. However, if I'm going to watch any of those people (Silver Quill, ILoveKimPossibleAlot, etc.), I tend to prefer someone other than Jerry. Sure he's entertaining in his episode summaries, but some of his Glass of Water videos come off as pushy and obnoxious.
Earlier today, I was watching Jerry and another YouTuber discussing fanworks...
...for almost an hour.
That got me thinking. About the people that make fanworks.
About the people that talk about those fanworks.
About the people that make the real show.
About the MLP community as a whole.
And, for the first time in a while, my negative nature has taken over and forced me to a crazy decision.
I'm done writing.
Not writing altogether, mind you. I'll still write these so no one can read them, and I'll still read and comment on other stories, but given how long it's been since I actually wrote something, and the negative attitude I've acquired as a result of overexposure to Jerry Peet videos about the quality of fanworks, I feel it's best that I abandon writing MLP.
I feel like I should delete my stories, but I can't bring myself to get rid of The Mare of My Dreams, in spite of how bad it is.
And I'll also try to keep writing for FanFiction, so if you need your ClarinetOverlord fix, head on over there and knock yourself out.
Yinz take care.

And that's why I don't watch analysis videos. They'll suck the passion for the thing you like right out of you. :P
