First blog post entry: How I found MLP. · 3:09pm Mar 15th, 2015
So, here I am. Finally made an account after over two years of lurking Fimfiction and enjoying the stories found here. Now I can keep track of my favorite stories without having 20+ bookmarks on Chrome.
Concerning my writing in general.
The Last Descendant is not my first story, I've enjoyed writing since I was about twelve and during school my favorite homework lessons was writing about something. Short stories was my favorites, especially when we were given free reigns to write about whatever we liked. I felt I could put my imagination to good use and I learned a lot from my writing projects.
In 2002 I wrote my first story which was a TMNT fanfic. I can't remember the name correctly, but I think it was named "Black cats and bad luck" or something like that. I wrote six chapters which was published on a now shutdown website and after a hiatus wich lasted almost nine months I decided to call it quits.
In 2006 I started playing World of Warcraft, a game which took up most of my time for almost six years. The stories found in the game itself is great and has inspired many fanfic writers, one of them being me. In 2009 I wrote my first story which was published on my guilds website. The story was written as a diary, regarding the events of my characters life. My character was an undead mage and the stories ranged from childhood experiences to his awakeng by the Val'Kyrs. The story received mixed reviews from my guildies.
In 2011 I joined an RP guild on a EU server. The members were good people, if a little strange and often I logged on to find them talking about colorful little horses. Turns out they talked about this show for little girls.
After asking what the show was about and stating my disbelief they were talking about My Little Pony (I remember the early ninties commercials (Shoo-be-doo).) one of my friends dared me to watch the first five episodes. If I hated the show she would give me 30,000 gold and if I liked the show I would receive nothing. I thought it would be the easiest 30k I have ever earned.
I sat down one friday evening and found a website where I could see the all the episodes, preparing to suffer.
It went something like this:
"Hm, okay. Animation is good, voice acting is good, the humor is... well, it's okay."
"Bookworm."
"Pinkie? What? How... Nevermind."
"Apples."
"Gotta go fast!"
"Daaahling."
"Yellowquiet."
"Villain!"
And that was just the first episode. I sat up the entire night watching every single episode that had been screened so far and when the sun rose I was a fan. I had a hard time admitting it but I liked the show for little girls and later I found out I wasn't the only one. I never got those 30,000 gold coins.
