Playing a twenty minute fight-on-the-run match as the Wraith in Evolve. Evading and tricking and misleading a group of persistent hunters lead by an actually competent Trapper. Slowly having my health whittled away, as the hunters constantly stick to my tail, making every meal a tactical choice; do I eat and risk eating a tracking dart? Can't stall much longer, not strong enough to take them head on yet. Down to my last sliver of health, when I get those last few meals in to Evolve to level 3. Not being tracked, shaken off pursuit, but time is running out. Evolve.
Health is bolstered, I'm at my most deadly. I rush the power core that can win me the match, Hunters come running. We engage. The round timer is paused as we engage. We have two seconds left of non-combat. It's make or break. I ferociously tear into the hunters, turning the tables in a brutal display of skill. One Hunter goes down, then another. Remaining two are on death's door, I charge towards one, rearing back to lean into a Supernova attack, and...game sputters, match is lost, game server dropped...dammit...
Yeah, so this isn't my usual blogging fair, but I needed to get this one out. Just to vent a bit of pure frustration, of having an awesome Evolve round go up in smoke, without it even being an issue on my end.
On that topic, if there are any other PS4 players out there, my handle is 'Ghoul88'.
In addition to Evolve, I also regularly play Warframe and Destiny, and could probably be lured into some other games if I have some company.
In writing, I'll probably be starting the next chapter of 'Diamond Tiara goes to Boot Camp' tonight or tomorrow. It's where my mind is at right now, and I've learned not to fight my creative impulses.
I'm also thinking I had a bit of a misstep with my first Changeling Blog. I think, I'm going to take another swing at it, breaking it down into much smaller, bite-sized blogs, while also straightening out some of my ideas. I knew it was turning into a wordwall to begin with, but I shouldn't have let it stay that way, rendering it so inscrutable.
So, I'm calling a bit of a mulligan on the Changeling Physiology Blog post.

Reminds me of some of the problems I used to have with League of Legends, back when I played.
One of the reasons I usually stay away from games that require an internet connection to play.
2866483 Yeah, I went into this kind of game knowing the risks. And in fairness, it was the first time I've had a match on Evolve dropped. Just wish it could have been a less awesome match. It didn't even save my skill progress and awards that I earned over the course of the match.
