Simpsons Did It...

Hello FiMFiction!

It has come to my attention that a very similar story to Darkwings has been published on this site. A story named My Little Slave by The Mystery Fluttershy Fan was brought to me by my friend SuperUltimateBrony who has been following this fic and helping with it's story on a few occasions. In My Little Slave, Fluttershy is captured by a mysterious pony who forces her to become a sex slave and her friends have to rescue her. Sounds like my fic, right? Well it pretty much is. I do think my fic differs slightly on the motives of the mysterious pony and who actually gets involved in rescuing Fluttershy as well as their stories, but I'm not going to sit here and lie like they are two completely different fics. They really aren't.

I AM here, however, to tell you that I am not PLAGIARIZING from The Mystery Fluttershy Fan. I was not aware of this fic's existence until a few days ago and I certainly didn't go searching FiMFiction to see if anyone had a similar idea to mine before I went ahead with writing. When creativity calls, you don't tell it to hold up like you're Kanye at the 2009 VMAs...YOU ROLE WITH IT!

Yes, my fic is similar to My Little Slave, but I will not stop writing Darkwings because the concept has been done before. This is MY envisioning of the concept of Fluttershy being kidnapped and tortured and sold to a sex slave ring. There will probably be major key differences between the two fics involving characters, plot, conclusions, etc. It's just the core concept that is the same. When SuperUltimateBrony sent me the link to My Little Slave, I told him about the episode of South Park where Butters is trying to destroy the town as Professor Chaos but gets mad that all his seemingly original evil plans have been done on The Simpsons. In the end, Chef tells Butters that it's okay to recycle ideas because even the Simpsons have recycled a few themselves from other shows.

The moral of that story is your vision is what makes an idea yours. Someone else can have the same idea, but will never own your version of that idea. They can only own theirs.

Another thing worth mentioning is My Little Slave IS a clopfic. Darkwings goes out of its way to AVOID being a clopfic. While yes, there may be some sexual instances in the story, there is no graphic sex to be described in my fic. None whatsoever. My fic will more than likely also be shorter than his, which runs at over 68,000 words. I don't have anywhere near a rough estimate for you guys, but I can tell you it is very unlikely that my fic will be anywhere near 68,000 words.

I just wanted to make it known to the readers that I am not trying to steal this author's idea. In fact, I'm not even gonna read his fic so its impossible for me to steal from it. I figured I had to make this blog post to let people know the truth before they started bitching at me and calling me a thief saying I stole the idea for My Little Slave. Its not stealing if you just happened to think of the same concept and write a fic about it too.
