Kingdom Hearts: Re: Chain of Memories review

Kingdom Hearts is a hard series to describe. It's a kind of a Disney/Final Fantasy crossover with some original ideas of its own but it also has a story thats both complex and makes sense when you think about it (and played all the games). With the exception of the 3DS and the phone game, one I played all of them. While the series is about 8 or 9 out of 10, in my opinion this is the black sheep of the group. BTW I got the PS2(in the 1.5 collection) version.

Story
After defeating the Seeker of Darkness, Sora, Donald and Goofy end up in a strange castle that lets them relive their past adventures and learn their true selves unaware of the plot that's going on directly in front of them.
Has any one played Kingdom Hearts 2. Ever wondered what happened to Sora? What happened with Riku? Where the "Thank Namine" thing came from is all in this game. This game was also introduces us to the Nobodies, the empty bodies that seek a heart of their own. I admit their are few parts that make me go "stop being an idiot.", The story is pretty decent and important to the series and is easily the best part of the game. Also the main bad guy creeps me out.

Gameplay
Kingdom Hearts is kinda like a beat'em-up/RPG, whacking monsters with a giant key and getting strong enough to fight the level's boss. The thing thats different is the fact you use cards to do commands and I don't like. It makes drag on longer than they need to be and the bosses can destroy you if you don't have a proper deck. you also not only make sure your cards are higher than you enemy, but make sure you are able to hit it.Sure you can use 3 cards to make combos, but they can make your deck smaller.But the worst thing is I found it to be very boring. The first few levels aren't too bad as they're not too long, But about the second set of levels I was finding it to be dull.
I'm sure some people like this gameplay but it's not for me.

Presentation
Not much about to say as most of the areas and music are taken from the previous game, which look good.Only new music is a few good boss tracks and the theme for Castle Oblivion which is meh. The voice acting is good but Sora's voice sounds weird coming from the his Kingdom Hearts 1 body. And is it just me or dose the lip syncing seem off on some characters.

Verdict
At least give the cutscenes a watch if you're interested in the series but not this game. The game to me is just boring but I'm sure t's fun for someone.
