It exists apparently and I have neglected to watch it until tonight.
The main reasons you want to watch this movie are the characters and the soundtrack. It was a bit quickly paced in my opinion, especially in the beginning, but it gets over that later.
Particular Highlights:
Maria
I love this leading Mexican lady. I love her beautiful ponytail. I love her feminist attitude. I love her pig. I love her singing voice. I am in love with her, period.
La Muerte
I also love this leading Mexican goddess of the Remembered. I love her massive hat, enemy of all narrow doors. I love her relationship with Xibalba, which is essentially Dislestia except Mexican. You're right, Toni, they are the married Mexican OTP. (Truth be told, I suspected the tour guide lady was La Muerte the whole time, ever since the hidden door dealio.)
The Sanchez Twins
I think one of them is named Bullseye.
Seriously, they're in the middle of fighting a bunch of bloodthirsty bandits and they're arguing about boys 'n' boots? Bless their matching hearts.
