Hi guys, how's it goin'?
Anyways, today has been a kinda slow day, still no chapters written and I'm having second thoughts about my initial idea.
Although Mazinkaiser could become a good fic on its own, it kinda share way too many common points with my other fic Ponies and Robot Wars, making it feel more like author tract than a fic by itself.
Another thing that happened today, I asked HazzardPony, the contest's main organizer and a nice guy BTW, and he confirmed my suspicious that Mazinkaiser wasn't directly related to the prompt "I'ts impossible". With that said, he also gave me some tips around the idea and even how to make Mazinkaiser fitting for it. To quote:
If you can get your characters to really drive the point home that they have no chance, but are going to try anyway, then you'll be fine. Whether they succeed or not doesn't even matter: it's what they think (and also we, the readers) that matters.
So, with that in mind, I think I have to go around the Failure Is The Only Option trope. In other words, if I want to make Mazinkaiser I need to spend most of the fic establishing that Sombra is a god mode villain sue and maybe not even the Kaiser can be enough to oppose him. So, with that said, I'm now trying out other ideas in case I can't develop Mazinkaiser enough.
1.- Suicide Squad
When explaining to me how to properly address the prompt, HazzardPony gave me the example of a suicide mission, and what better example of such idea than the team that do that on every damn issue. Now, since 5thWriter is already writing a similar fic, I'll have to ask him if he has no problems about it.
And that's it. I'm literally out of ideas, so this day has been the opposite of productive.
Now, if you excuse me, I'll vent frustrations with Team Fortress 2's Mann vs Machine. Wave 666, here I come!

, but yeah just like that vid you showed me , you need to Make Sombra a power hungry god, , nearly unstoppable , with an army who can't be defeated.......hmm make him get his hooves on the contract of San Venganza? , but still....the kaiser is one Mecha to fight an army , ..an impossible mission to bring a little hope for the resistance ?

The Contract of San Venganza?! Yeah, it has some future, but bringing Ghost Rider to the mix could be confusing for people who doesn't get the reference.
You know, while playing MvM I had an idea; what if the army is not THAT invincible, but it's so big that when the resistance manages to defeat one, there are seven more taking its place, like the OMAC's:

So, in perspective, the resistance would be in trouble not because they can't deal with one, the problem are the infinite rows of foes behind that one.
