Hi, just wanted to let y'all know that not only have I *NOT* given up on this story - oh Celestia no, FAR from it - I've in fact been working on it for most of the last month as my primary project. 
HAY NO, this concept and all it's possibilities are way too awesome to let this one slide. 
I'll just skip all the drama and cut down to the fact that there's basically only two days in the entire week AT BEST where I can really do ANY productive writing AT ALL, and it's not just a matter of 'having enough time' or not. Not to mention I also do comics and drawings on my dA and stuff. There are certain circumstances in effect that I can't do anything about any time soon. Doesn't help that, regardless of that, I'm also a silly perfectionist. 
In any case, I though I'd mention that I'm currently delving into segments of chapter 5 and 6, and that chapter 4 is (hopefully) going to be released sometime (relatively) 'soon'*
(*) 'soon' by my personal standards, that is. Sorry.

I'm still working on it. Once again, I'm not on hiatus, I'm just that slow.
...although admittedly I had to figure out some rough spots (and still have) ...
But... this is my current primary project. I've already managed to pull of a 30 minute flash animation once, and that took more than a year.
...the point is, while I am slow, I can also be persistent.
(Well, sometimes, sometimes not. But this is one of the "sometimes" that I am. I'm pretty sure of it.)

Actually, yes, I *am* still being "slow".
Life is throwing me some curveballs, which has added to that, and kinda makes it hard to predict progress. Plus, I don't fancy myself being able to just sit down and start typing and stop abruptly one hour later ... especially in the evening when I'm tired ... I need more time and energy to get "into the zone", so it's really not like I can work every day.
On top of that, I *am* a perfectionist. ^^; I could probably write some silly nonsense about how Rainbow Dash from one second to the next suddenly gains all of Pinkie's powers with some hack explanation about "you don't need to think about it" (no offense to other authors is intended, I don't have a problem seeing that being used as an explanation), but I wanna go the extra mile and flesh out everything individually.
I want the story to become the best it can be. The concept is simply too awesome not to do it. 
It may sound silly considering the lack of progress, but barely a day passes by when I DON'T think of this fanfiction. The concept in itself has SOOOO much potential, I couldn't just let go of that!
There's actually some stuff for chapter 6 and 7 I already wrote after "fighting" with a particularly difficult scene that has so far undergone four complete revisions from scratch. (Although the "chapter 6"-stuff is in a more unfinished state than the "chapter 7"-stuff, ironically enough.
Likely will need some advise with something in chapter 6 later on. ^^; 
)

I was gonna post another blog either once I finish chapter 5 (Luna knows when that'll be), or one of the two unfinished "fanarts" I have lying about for this fiction, as proof of concept that I'm still on the job. Not to mention some of my previous (non-writing) projects - one of which being a 30-minute long flash-animation - and the fact that, even if it took more than an entire year, I DID in fact finish those.
