    I'M BA-ACK!!!!!!!! (sorta)

So some of you may or may not have noticed I've been missing from this site for quite some time. At first it was mostly due to the traditional Catholic ritual of Lent, so I have to limit my time out here. Then there was also my need to stay away from political action for awhile, which I make the mistake of getting involved with. Then I got... get ready for this... a JOB! :pinkiehappy:

    Hello again!

I've been away for quite some time. School has been a lot busier than I intended, and even before I started again this semester... I think I've just been losing interest around here.

    I'm So Bored...

My last blog was 3 months ago. I dunno, there's not much for me to write about, at least that I feel like sharing with the world. Writing progress? Still slow. I need to figure out how to push myself. I genuinely want to write and tell stories, but sometimes my concentration is on par with Dory from Finding Nemo. Who, by the way, is officially my spirit animal after some careful consideration

Sirens Headcanon: Part 2 · 3:09am Jan 22nd, 2015

Gigi “encouraged” her mother to go talk to the dragon. When the seapony confessed, Resonance felt torn; though he did care for and was loyal to Lolita, he had also begun to admire Arianna as well. There was also his beloved daughter to think about. What would she think? He couldn’t possibly risk upsetting his family. With that in mind, he turned Arianna down, but his feelings never changed- something Gigi was all too happy to exploit.
For the next year or so, Gigi convinced her mother to go visit and flirt with the dragon against her better judgement. In addition, she weakened the father down, helping him to embrace his love for Arianna and slowly grow tired of his wife. She made him aware of her flaws, while viewing her mother as nothing but perfection. Finally, Arianna and the dragon began their affair. They were too distracted by their infatuation to pay attention to their children, as was Lolita, who was suspicious of her husband and too caught up in her own problems to worry about Aria. However, concerned that she was alone without friends, Lolita reluctantly allowed her to be around Gigi.
In the third house on the shore lived Serena and Lawclaw. Having seen what Aria and Gigi had become, he made it clear that they would never have any children. But when he left for the Great Dragon Migration, Serena made a terrifying discovery- she was pregnant. And despite her spouse’s warning, she wanted to keep the baby.
Serena pleaded with Lolita and Arianna for help, and they promised to keep the baby’s father in the dark. More importantly, they wouldn’t let their children near each other.
After the baby, Sonata, was born, Serena made a nursery for her in the attic, where her father never went. Lolita became a nanny to the child, and it helped to keep her mind off her own family woes. Each night Arianna went over to Serena’s house and carried Sonata outside, and she fed her in secret.
By the time Sonata had been brought into the world, Gigi was thirteen and Aria was eight. They still hung out behind their parent’s backs, and Arianna had mellowed out so much from her love affair that she scarcely paid attention to her own daughter. This both pleased and annoyed young Gigi.
Aria, meanwhile, had been hesitant about her friend manipulating her daddy, but Gigi had assured her he wasn’t completely under her control. Besides, Aria’s own personal relationship to her father hadn’t diminished. Yes, she was frustrated by his (and Mom’s) attempts to control her life, but she knew they were the only ones outside of Gigi that cared about her, and she loved them. There were times Aria thought about running away to the Eastern Equestrian Sea with Gigi, where they could live on their own with no one to judge them or hold back their true natures. But her love for her parents persisted, and she stayed. Aria worried, however, for the day either Gigi or her own parents would make her choose between them.
In the meantime, the two half-seaponies continued to stir up trouble around their home. With their parents occupied, they created distrust and disharmony for their own feeding, and at some point they began doing so just for fun.
They’d also been paying attention to their mothers, and grew curious about the secret they’ve been keeping. Always eager to take advantage of new situations, Gigi spied on her mother whenever possible, and would report back to Aria. Not much happened, but if it was anything like when Mom tried to hide the existence of Aria…
The adults, as usual, continued to deal with their own problems. Tensions had grown between Aria’s parents, while the affair between Resonance and Arianna continued. Lolita began to bond more with Serena during her frequent visits to help raise Sonata. Eventually, the two seaponies began their own secret romance. Serena was elated to finally have a partner she could genuinely love. With Sonata’s dad still off on the migration, she and Lolita spent many days together at her house, with none of Lolita’s family members the wiser.
While still unaware of her mom’s secret retreats, Aria could sense the tension within her family as they sat together for meals. No one felt comfortable, and there was barely any trust. Everyone in the family had a secret to hide from at least one member. Finally, Aria began to feel guilty about the pain she was causing her parents, and begun to persuade her father to love her mom again.
Gigi followed her mother one night to Serena’s house. It was here that she saw baby Sonata for the first time. She was tiny and wide-eyed, with the same kind of body she and Aria had, but in a light blue hue. Three seaponies, Gigi’s mother included, sang in harmony for the baby, who cooed and giggled for a long time before finally falling asleep.
The sight made Gigi enraged at her mother and jealous of the little blue creature. She dashed home before any of the seaponies could see her, crying herself to sleep while cursing her mother. At this point, Gigi was certain her mom no longer loved her, and was going to replace her. Had Arianna ever loved her daughter to begin with?
She did, in fact, but at the same time she feared her daughter. Even without knowing about the spell Gigi had put her under, Arianna was aware of the kind of power she possessed. She also knew that Gigi was not hesitant to use said powers on others. The fact that she literally lived off misery made raising her well incredibly difficult. She was beginning to question if Gigi could ever be a good creature, even with her curse- which Arianna constantly blamed herself for.
Lolita, meanwhile, was beginning to have doubts about her relationship to Serena. Yes, she cared for her, but to the level of how she felt about Aria’s father? Deep down Lolita still yearned for closure with him. Perhaps she was being paranoid. After all, he’d accepted her long ago when they married, even with her condition and how they hadn’t been in love at first. But they’d bonded over Aria, and had grown to care for each other. It had to be real love-it had to be.
When she did come around to gently breaking up with Serena, it did not go over well. Serena got upset, and kicked her out of her home for good. In the days that followed, Serena became unhinged, and spend days up in her baby’s nursery. She made herself miserable and angry at Lolita all the time when she was up there, knowing she could feed the child with her own negative energy. But baby also cried when this happened, even though she was being properly feed. Why? Was she upset for Mommy? In any case, once Sonata was feed enough of her energy, Serena would cradle her and sing her to sleep. And at the end of each song, little Sonata fell asleep, a tiny innocent smile on her face, and Serena placed her back in her crib before resting herself to prepare for the next day’s sob fest.
One night, after Sonata was put to bed, her father had finally returned home. Serena was surprised, but she was more concerned about the baby than herself getting in trouble. Lawclaw went upstairs, and was horrified upon discovering a nursery. Serena tried to explain the situation, but he was persistent in his vow not to raise such a creature. At this point he attempted to strangle the baby, but Serena attacked him. The ensuing fight ended with Lawclaw dead, Sonata wailing loudly, and Serena having had her mind completely snapped.
She ran towards the Blaze household, where Aria and Lolita were having a silent dinner. Unbestknown to them, Mr. Blaze was out with Arianna by the ocean, where he planned to set things right but still share one more evening with his secret second love. As for his wife and child, Lolita was slowly starting to build up hope again for the family, and Aria hoped to have a mature, big girl talk with her parents about Gigi. Tomorrow was her birthday, after all, so it was the ideal time for a fresh start.
But in the middle of the awkward meal, Serena burst into the house, demanding that Lolita kiss her. She recounted what had just transpired at the Dusk household, and figured that she was now free of her husband. With the newfound “freedom,” Serena hoped to run off with Lolita, taking their daughters with them. Horrified, Lolita tried to fend her off, but Serena persisted. Neither Aria nor her mother was sure if the crazed seapony intended to rape or kill for not getting her way.
Before Serena could properly attack Lolita though, Aria took a lamp and knocked her out. But she’d hit her neck instead of her head- and when Serena dropped to the floor, she didn’t stir. Lolita checked her neck, and there was no pulse.
Lolita looked at her daughter, who looked relieved and proud of herself. All of a sudden her world came crashing down- Aria was a killer. Was there any hope for her being a good pony? She constantly lashed out at her and her father, and hurt people for fun, with no remorse. Now one of her friends lay dead on the floor, her blood on Aria’s hooves.
Horrified, Lolita ran outside to cry, leaving Aria inside with the body. But it was just outside of the house where she saw none other than her husband- and Arianna, together on the shore. She couldn’t make out their words, but Lolita began to piece the evidence together. The nagging feelings. His secrecy. The growing disdain he held toward her. It made too much sense not to be true. Still, it was probably the fact that it was with Arianna, her friend, that hurt the most about the fact.
And that’s when she saw them kiss.
Lolita, now feeling numb, trudged back into the house, ignoring Aria. She walked back to her room and sat on her bed. She thought back to all that had occurred. Lolita could see that her life had crumbled before her. But she wasn’t ready to leave her life- yet.
Aria was confused at first. She hadn’t meant to kill Serena, but at least her mother (and herself) were safe now, right? Why was mom acting so weird? But when she saw the look in her mother’s eyes, Aria saw shock, disappointment, and fear- all directed at her. Suddenly Aria felt guilty; perhaps she didn’t think so herself, but what she had done was wrong in her mother’s mind. And for the first time in a long time, Aria was also beginning to feel shame. She didn’t even respond to her own father when he came in and kissed her before heading upstairs.
Meanwhile, at the Dazzle household, Arianna was taking the breakup in stride. Oh, she was still heartbroken- in fact, she’d kissed him hoping she’d change his mind. But in the end, he’d chosen his wife, and she understood. Deep down she still loved him though, and it would always hurt to be away from him.
In the middle of her thoughts, Gigi came downstairs, ready to confront her mother. She looked at Arianna with nothing but contempt and anger. If ever Gigi truly loved Arianna, the feeling had long since past.
The young girl revealed that she knew about Sonata, about the affair- everything Arianna ever tried to hide from her. She then asked if she ever loved her. Her mom tearfully said she did, but Adagio did not believe her. She tried again and again to convince her mother to admit what she thought was the truth, but Arianna persisted, hoping to get through to her. Infuriated, Gigi snapped her mother’s neck.
Next door, Aria was still deep in her own thoughts when she heard shots coming from upstairs. She ran into her parents’ bedroom, and saw both of them dead on different sides of the room. The gun lay next to her mother’s body.
Aria didn’t dare spend the night in her house. She went out to the shores and sat on the rocks where she and Gigi often spent their time together, bonding and dreaming about the future. Aria cried and cried until she was sure she couldn’t cry anymore. She sat gazing at the horizon until dawn, too upset to sleep. But as the sun was rising, she sensed a chance at freedom, a new beginning. At last, she was no longer bound to her parent’s rules, and her friendship with Gigi could last forever. She’d miss her parents, of course, but not their chains. Still, Aria couldn’t shake the shame that Lolita had wordlessly placed on her.
At some point that morning, she was joined by Gigi, who now went by her full name Adagio. Aria confessed to the murder and told her friend about all that transpired just hours ago. Upon hearing about Serena, Adagio lied to her friend saying that Aria had killed the seapony who’d murdered her mother in a crazed rage. They agreed to hide the bodies of everypony who’d died, together. Using their voices, they gathered some dogs and had them devour the corpses. Aria winced at the mauling of her parents, but otherwise had no issues watching Serena, Lawclaw, and Arianna’s bodies get ripped apart. Adagio simply looked on in fascination.
When the parents had been disposed of, Adagio led Aria up to where baby Sonata was sleeping. She explained that she’d followed their parents to this attic, and they intended to hide the baby from them. Aria wasn’t too shocked by what the secret was- sometimes she could hear Serena gently singing a tune like a lullaby from her bedroom window, but left the investigation to her friend- but she still didn’t get why they were here.
During the conversation, the baby woke up. Adagio leaned over the crib and cradled the young half-seapony in her arms. She and Aria would take care of Sonata, and raise her to embrace her gifts. The three of them would live freely, bound to nopony’s rules but their own.
Adagio held Aria’s hoof as she carried Sonata. They stared once again at the early morning sky, which shined as bright as they hoped their future would be together.
