And yet more pixellated drawings, this time of my group of OC's - the Changeling Queens! (Warning: A lot of headcanons follow.)
Here we have the group in full. From left to right, Queens Myocia, Chrysalis, Chroma, Dionaea, Ambysto, and Icthyos. Might as well go into the backstory behind each one - this might feature in-story, or not.
Queen Myocia, of the Roaming Hive. Her changelings possess the ability to regenerate, and spend their time infiltrating military forces to masquerade as soldiers - and, although they'd never say it out loud, quite a few nations let them. She's probably the biggest and physically strongest changeling alive, easily as tall as a shorter human (about 5', counting the horn).
Queen Chrysalis, of the Forest Hive. She doesn't really need much of an explanation, all things considered, but she's about 4 feet tall and loves to lure in unsuspecting travelers through the Everfree. Her changelings are capable of perfect imitation - that is, they can simply look at a target and transform into an exact replica, unlike others who have to practice.
Queen Chroma of the Crystal Hive. Blind as the proverbial bat, she's easily the shortest and youngest Queen out there at roughly 3 and a half feet. As a Crystal Changeling, her shell is much harder than the others - very nearly bulletproof.
Queen Dionaea, of the Jungle Hive. Her fiery coloration, needle-sharp horn and spiky hair are all clear warning signs in the jungle of a poisonous creature - and her blood attests to this as well, hosting a very concentrated organic neurotoxin. Noticeably, she has no wings - no need when her method of gathering food is simply sitting and waiting for the trap to close shut.
Queen Ambysto, of the Marsh Hive. The luminescent fungi that populate her colony have filled in the holes in her legs, providing a constant source of light. Those travelers that are unfortunate enough to enter her swamp are lured off by these same lights - and are usually never seen again.
And finally, Queen Icthyos of the Shore Hive. Everything about her is aquadynamic - her wings have been traded out for fins, her horn is curved back to reduce drag, and her tail is adapted to serve as a 'rudder' when swimming. This allows her and her breed to move incredibly fast underwater, and their most popular tactic is to snatch unwary swimmers from below, quickly speeding off to feast on their love - the victim often doesn't even have time to drown.
And those are my changeling queen OC's. I had a lot of fun coming up with the names and looks for them, and I hope you have fun reading about them.
Hmm, now I'm tempted to make a spinoff featuring these six...
I like these headcanons.
