Personal Update for the Beginning of 2015 · 12:20am Jan 6th, 2015
Hey everybody,
It's been one heck of a year last year. Conventions were fun, and progress on my art was good. I even ended up getting a new job at my friend's RC Hobbies shop that he just opened up. Unfortunately, there can never be good news without bad news, can there?

There is unfortunately a lot of bad news this time, too. As usual, I have been fighting off my annual depression, however, this time time it has been much worse than in recent years. This is the farthest it's slipped since it started getting better, and it's very close to being as bad as it was before ponies came into my life and brightened things up. the difference is, I've started to grow numb to it, making it harder to fight. Most of my coping mechanisms (writing, art, etc.) are things I've been struggling with lately too.
I've all but given up on writing as of late... Even the things I enjoy writing. I keep picking up the digital pen, stare at a page, and then close the document. I just can't write anymore. And what's wierd is that it's not a creative block either. I have plenty of ideas and a lot of scenes visuallized. I just can't put words onto paper anymore, nor can I really find enjoyment in reading anything anymore either.
And that same problem is bleeding into my art world too. Though, I think a lot (but not all) of that is just the new job sapping away my time.
And the big thing that's been hitting me lately? I've been increasingly lonely relationship-wise. It's actually gotten to the point now that I nearly threw up involuntarily just from watching the relationships in a pretty relationship heavy movie the other day.
I also have been struggling with some bad short-term memory loss. It's annoying and worrisome, but it's not at all debilitating (at least not yet).
All of that has hit me in these past few months, along with some other minor things. So, altogether, it's been a draining end of the year for me.
I have high hopes that this year will be better, especially once season 5 of ponies starts up, and once convention season gets rolling again.
If you actually read all that, I thank you. I don't like to project these things onto my followers, but I think it was something I needed to put forth openly.

Awww.... I wish you the best of luck wolf! I was looking forward to the completion of Pure Hearts, since I was considering turning it into an audiobook, but I can understand what you're saying here. I know depressions only too well.

Thanks for the well-wishes. I can assure you I plan on at least finishing up the first 10 chapters (essentially, the first "book") at some point, but progress will be incredibly slow, even compared to normal. I do already have one person who was doing an audio-book for me, but another would be more than welcome!
