You know, I was actually planning to see The Interview way back before all this hacking business happened. I saw the trailer, thought that it would be a fun movie to watch and when I saw that it was going to be released around Christmas, I planned to go see it. I always go watch a movie in the theater on Christmas so The Interview was in my mind just that: the movie to go see on Christmas.
Then Sony got hacked for the fifth time in a week and they pulled it from theaters. Fuck, there goes my movie for Christmas.
Then all that crap happened and Sony made it available to rent. I rented it on youtube and I enjoyed it. Everyone is saying that it's terrible and that Sony tricked all of them into watching it but I enjoyed it. I knew what I was getting into, a Rogen/Franco film, and for what it was, I liked it.
Even though I saw the Kim Jong-Un death scene several times, it was still funny when I saw the movie. And the Eminem scene in the beginning was fucking hilarious.
