If there are such things as top-down and bottom-up programming, I wonder if bottom-up and top-down writing also exists.
Because I have to press myself hard into following the latter approach and write things that the plot-line demands, not what I'd feel like writing at the moment. Some scenes and dialogues just come naturally, and some take ages to put to paper, even if I fully know what and how exactly should they look like. If that's those 'writer blocks' people keep talking about, then they must be made of granite, and you have to cut your way through. With a hammer and a hand chisel, apparently.
