Happy Hearth's Warming, and all that

Well, it's no longer Christmas in most of the world (and I'm sure some of you don't celebrate it anyway), so I'll just say "Happy Hearth's Warming to all of you" instead.

So I really haven't been doing much around here for the past month or so. Including reading (I know that plenty of my favorite stories have been adding new chapters that I've mostly ignored), keeping up with news/blog posts (I did briefly scan through a few hundred posts I had missed a few days ago, but if there was anything important there, I probably missed it), and writing (I've had a story mostly finished for the past month and a half, I just need to finish up the editing/revisions for it). There are a few reasons for this. Last week was finals week for me, so of course that kept me super busy, and then this week I was back home doing Christmas stuff, which had me only slightly less busy.

But what's kept me the busiest is this:

I'm the Discord in that picture, by the way. And Fluttershy is my girlfriend. (I don't actually have any particularly strong feelings about that ship, but it seems to fit us fairly well.) We've been together now for about a month, and basically all the time that I previously spent around here is being spent with her. Which is definitely not a bad thing, but it does mean I won't be around here as much. But we are currently on opposite sides of the country for the break, so I should hopefully be able to get some things done around here in that time.

No promises, but I should hopefully at least get that new story up sometime within the next week. We'll see.
