Getting this out ahead of time, just in case.
The Fall of Equestria series is, at its heart, about fetishized female submission. I don't enjoy reading it. I don't find it erotic. It just makes me angry. But I don't have a problem with it. I don't hate that it exists. If that's your thing, so be it.
The Fall of Equestria series is often read as a male fantasy that glorifies slavery, rape, pedophilia, and violence against women. I have a problem with this.
Or that's my interpretation.
Reign of Mares was inspired by the people in the latter camp. It is not an attack on Fall of Equestria. It is a story about a different kind of submission, within the same tradition. The gender binary has not been reversed, only the power structure. It is not intended to make a statement or teach anyone a lesson. If you get off to it, that's just an added bonus. (I will probably have to write a chapter with a sex scene before that happens.)
Writing Reign of Mares is my way of dealing with the fact that people who glorify rape exist.

I read FOE, but entirely out of morbid curiosity. That's what's driving me to read Reign of Mares as well. I'm a curious bastard. I see rape as a horrible thing in real life.

Hmm im sorry but i do have to argue i have a say rape fetish but if i saw rape irl i would do everything in my power to stop it i draw the line for this stuff in real life i would be upset if something like FOE happened in real life this story thought is very hot to me but agin my oppion im not trying to shoot you down you have a good point just saying
