If you work near a bread slicer...

... be sure to wear cut-resistant gloves. Slicing your finger open on rapidly-moving blades is not a fun experience, nor is cleaning the wound afterwords. Safety regulations are there for a reason! I'm lucky that I still have an intact finger, and that it'll be healed up fully within a month, but that's something I hope none of you ever have to experience.

    Updates and a question

Hi everyone. Figured I'd post a little update about what's happening in case anyone's still following me. With the assistance and advice of resident Navy sailor Kaipony, I've been working for several months now on an a three-book, alternate-history World War Two naval saga that pits Celestia and Equestria against Nightmare Moon and her allies. But unlike my previous stories, which were written,

If you could erase one MLP character from existance, who would it be?

I'd get rid of Button Mash. Not because I have anything against him, but because it would spare us all from the seemingly countless incest stories he's involved in. I know every fandom has it's seeder, unsavory sides, but good God, why are so many people into stories of a grade-school child having sex with his mom, or her wanting to have sex with him? Knowing that his (non-canon) mother

What Statistics is like for someone who is horrible at math: Judgement Day · 4:31am Dec 19th, 2014

It's been quite a long while since I gave an update on my Statistics class, and thankfully things did get better since my last math-related blog post. There were several tests with increasingly convoluted formulas and equations that made the earliest examples look like elementary school arithmatic. Thankfully, our professor took pity and allowed us to use powerful calculators on the tests, as well as having a cheat sheet that we could write whatever we wanted on, from formulas to entire questions. With those two tools, and partial credit for answers-you-don't-quite-get-right-but-at-least-try-to-solve, I managed to slug through all the tests with relative ease.

Then came the final. The test that took questions and formulas from the entire semester and forced us to confront if we had really learned the material or not. All our skills and knowledge would be put to the ultimate test. So, needless to say, I gathered up all my wits, courage, and fortitude, and began sweating bullets in pants-wetting terror. My tiny-print writing skills got a workout as I furiously scribbled down every question and answer from the previous tests. Six tests worth of material squeezed onto a single 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper. Batteries were charged. A nutritious breakfast was eaten. My heart pounded like never before as I headed to the classroom, sat down, and took several deep breaths as the test was handed out.

For the next two hours I squinted, scribbled, punched in formulas, and prayed for the best as I finally completed the test after agonizing which answers I should go with. But at last, it was over, and I left. All I had to do now was wait until my final grade appeared online, one which would decide if would continue on to getting my second degree, or be stuck doing confidence intervals for another six months.

Today, that grade was finally posted...

Oh I know that feeling. Brown letter day, opening them up to see our final exam results.

Congratulations!

That 'A' certainly is cracking good news, especially after the previous statistic post's frustration.
:pinkiehappy:

oh god that feeling
i've had it
it's indescribable

really happy for you!

Reminds me a lot of what my Statistics class was like. The final was surprisingly not as bad as I thought it was. I actually did a whole lot better than I thought I would, getting a 67 overall. Despite that, I still got an A in the class. With my possessive math major dad hovering over my shoulder all the time, honestly I think the study sessions for the final exam was a lot harder than the final exam itself. And I most certainly agree. I hated those small writing portions for each of the questions. I remember I had to rewrite an entire writing assignment twice when I wasn't able to get all the work into each of the extremely small spaces.
