A sad story of a writer long failing.

A young brony, wanting to become a great writer, decided to start with a few fictions based off of his favorite tv show. His first two were very unnoticed, mild successes for only a few viewers, but then he decided to write a few more stories. Going off of only his own edits, he was unable to get second opinions, and posted his stories in all their glory. The first, a romance fiction, was bombed

A sad story of a writer long failing. · 2:44am Nov 30th, 2014

The first, a romance fiction, was bombed worse than London during the blitz.

"Don't worry, I shall write another." said the young brony to himself, this time a story mixing it with another tv show and a video game. The critisims rang strong through him, trying on filling in description, failing at devolping charecters, and not giving purposes to the plot. All due to no editor, no help, and cranking the stories out by himself.

This young brony is me. My last few fictions have bombed pretty badly, so I think I could use an editor. I of course, having jack all to offer in return, will fail at fanfiction writing for ever. I need help. I wish to revamp my failing fictions if possible, and get help on future projects. Can I please have some help, so that I don't end up constantly writing crapfictions?

There are groups for this. Try posting there.

What Kraken said. I would suggest that as well.

While, yes, I MIGHT help, if I had time... I've got work, webcomics, videos, and, of course, stories (The Unlikeliest of Heroes, Uplifted - Shattered Sword, Secrets of the Zone - Shadow of Chernobyl), I'll give you some advice that many get from me, no matter who they are.

First off, if people are mentioning issues with your story, don't be quick to get angry. That's where you can destroy yourself purely by accident most times. A level head, and the ability to poke fun at yourself, those help.

Now, here's the advice most people find when they come to my profile:

Here's some pointers for those of you who want some good writing tips and such:

1. Think about your characters. How do you want to portray them? How do they react to the situations? Literally put yourself into the character's mind and operate from there. This does not mean that you make the characters into yourself, but try and see things from their perspective.

2. Your setting. Sure, people like certain settings, but then you have those who blow people out of the water with a setting that may have been disliked, but their story worked perfectly in it. Make sure you create a world that can be familiar, but also new, in a sense. Be careful on this.

3. Your antagonist! THIS is a major point. If you do not have a definite BIG BAD, then you do have a problem. Some stories don't reveal the BIG BAD until much further into the story, while some reveal it near the beginning. Think of what he/she/it does, why it does it, and how that affects those it does those things to. NOW! Sometimes, the BIG BAD is not, well, a big bad. Sometimes there is never an antagonist. There must be something that makes the characters grow.

4. Your situations. A rolling boulder comes hurtling towards your character. MOST stories like that would have a rope vine. Every situation, if you really want to make them interesting, must have an out-of-the-box way of solving the problem. Instead of a rope vine, how about a ledge just underneath so the boulder goes flying over? Or an alcove to the side? "What should the solution be" is the question for situations.

5. Chapter set up: How many situations, how much exposition. This is bare-bones essential to the start of a story. How much will you reveal at the start? How much will be kept hidden until the appropriate time? It's paramount for suspense.

That's my advice for you.
