I love how much he loves her.

A dude I know has to wait for his girlfriend and I asked him how he does it, how he copes with waiting.
    He said:
Each day I'm one step closer. That's what keeps me going.

    Awww.

My dream may seem far fetched.

But I don't care, I don't care that others doubt me. I'm not gonna sit and complain that it's unachievable. I'm doing my best and keeping all the hope in the world that one day the dream will come true.
If I fail, I know I tried. If I get it, I know I earned it.

Salute To Veterans! (Seriously?) · 10:51pm Nov 11th, 2014

Read the whole article befofe you say your opinion...

Happy Veterans Day!

I shall say no!

Everyone is talking about how great our country is and salute the brave soldies of the United States! Well, they are fighting for the stupidest reasons!

I'm gonna sound hateful. I have a grandfather who's a vetan and he is far from any "honor" of war! Why the hell is this a celebration?

I'm not giving a damn about this holiday..

Now, I'll celebrate the idea of veterans from ALL countries, and to think of the dead as well as the innocent who were killed for no reason because of all this war!!

Our country happens to be guys one of the most police ruled state countries of this world, and your all falling for it!

Sorry for the rant...

Glad I'm not the only one...

2588785

Same here man..

2588858

Dude I used to be American..

I know there are good things and bad things that the U.S have done...

Canada is also one of the best countries in the world, sure good and bad but still it's better than here..

I know my (other) country's anthem by heart, but hey, there's bad things everywhere in this world!

But I don't like it, when everybody is thinking of U.S like god! It's like Nazi Germany if you think about it..

I repect your opinion..

By the way what have we fought for?

2588878

I understand what you mean by celebration I guess, your pretty smart and I was wrong, I meant was holiday.

How do people believe that these veterans did an honorable thing? Tell me that.

I know this is a bit of an argue, but I need to talk to someone about this topic.

Why the hell is this a celebration?

Armistice Day, 1918. The fighting ended in the greatest war the world had yet seen. Made to commemorate the ones who had fought in the war and returned alive. In 1954 it was renamed Veterans' Day to include those who fought in WWII.

As for the purpose of Veterans' Day: while you are obviously no fan of America, I don't think you can deny that we're better than Nazi Germany. Might as well celebrate the bravery of those who fought against Hitler.

2589055

How is violence a ''solution''?

Yeah, a solution for which empire gets what! And the United States are using the idea of defeating all the terrorists as an excuse to go into war with the middle east.

And hell, they created I.S.I.S in the first place..

This holiday is ALMOST as bad as Colombus Day, only Colombus Day is a lot worse. It's a holiday that involves some appreciation for war.

My great grandfather fought for a little bit in WW2 for the Germans (don't freak out), and was captured by U.S forces at the end of it, my point is he never liked to be a 'veteran' he was ashamed to every be said that he went in the war, he hated war ever since them, and he taught all the generations to never think of anything positive of war.

Your point?

2589116

But here, if you are never attacked, what is the reason?

The United States should not have gone into WW1 with no reason, and in WW2 they well knew that the Japanese were aiming for Pearl Harbor just to get into the war to fight Hitler, it was an excuse to go in for self defense.

Americans used to be the war hating ones, but now it's the opposite. How is stopping the terrorists ever actually helping? Get out of Syria! The U.S are making it worse! Don't get involved!

The US knew the attack on the Twin Towers were happening!

Here people are sitting and thinking of soldiers coming home, or how bad the Twin Tower attack was, when the U.S are doing the same!! They are attacking people's live with 'Twin Tower' attacks all the time! What I'm saying is, if it's none of your business, why should you try getting in there? It has made the situation worse!!

Canada was part of the British Empire, so it HAD to go to war…

But why should you ruin cultures? The Brits never should have infected Indians who were trying to help them with the decision of trying to kill them? The Indians had thanksgiving and the English gave no damn about them!

Now there's slavery, why did they take my own people into slaves? Wars were fought because of my people! My ancestors were escaped slaves, (proud of it, not American runaways but actual African native runaways) running away from French West Africa into East Africa, why did they have dumb wars for us?

The Portuguese/British were horribled to the islands that the African slaves where, where some of the Buddhists were, all my heritage, wether African, Buddhist, Islam, German, French, Dutch, or Ukrainian, all of them fought war because why? Colonialism!

Why did we have to fight for the French or the German or French, we were a colony!

I know this conversation is becoming deeper, but are YOU proud of war?

As I said to Derpy Muffin 7, war because of the U.S has caused as many devastation and worse than the Nazis could do, and that's because of the Vietnam War, Afghan War, ISIS war, Syria war, etc.

2589097 This country has flaws, and lots of them, but I think common decency will keep us from trying to kill off an entire race.

Anyway, I understand where you're coming from. It still scares me that somewhere out there, there's some guy working for the government whose reading this comment. :twilightoops:

2589136

I agree..

:twilightoops:

But if you are listening, guy working for the government! Hear my WORDS….

(And by the way Derpy Muffin, the US killed as many people in Iraq as the Germans killed the Jews, worse!)

2589146 I could either call that the price of war or ruthless slaughter. Considering that not everyone in Iraq was involved, I'm going to call it unnecessary slaughtering. And adding that to the list of flaws…

2589167

How about the Indians?

They were slaughtered all the time!

They died because of disease, how about the Trails of Tears or the Navajo Long Walk?!!

They were forced to walk to their deaths..

2589208 That's more easily waved off. Conquest. Everyone did it back then. You saw some land you liked, you killed the people living there. As for the Trail of Tears, I'm not to versed in my history on that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Native Americans were forced to be relocated because of some gold on their land. Again, conquest. Of course, in today's society of equal rights generally everywhere, this would be seen as horrid and immediately stopped or compensated for. Hooray for developement!

2589219

Don't worry even I get history a little wrong some times..

Well, you see the Indians living down in the South, and the South happened to have slaves, the problem was too many slaves were escaping and joined the Indians so the slave owners had no proof against them being there. The slaves were excepted into Indian life, so the government of the United States led bu Andrew Jackson, removed the Indians from the south in order for now the slaves had no where to go and hide and couldn't be proven guilty..

By the way, what do you think are happening to the Central American immigrants? They are being jailed for no reason in a prison in Cuba! Why? Because they are not allowed to go to the 'freedom' country anymore, and if you really want to know the sects that go on in that prison, tell me, and I'll give you the horrific details. But if you rather be kept away from the evils of America, I understand..

2589251 Thanks for the clarification. Anyway, it was nice discussing with you.

2589258

Okay, end of discussion with you.

Thank you for listening, and sorry for argueing with you for a while..

2589264 No problem, I like a good debate.

2589756

This is becoming heated, but it will not affect us in any way! It's a debate on our views and beliefs!

The Germans did tempt Mexico by telling them that they could get my state, as well as California, Texas, and Arizona! But, Mexico did not get into the war because of the United States.

United States promised it's citizens the whole time before 1917 that they would not get involved in WW1.

And your saying exactly, is that your proud your country went into war and won the war for no reason? Look, the Central Powers were far from worse than the Axis power! It was a total colonial war!

Another war that I feel so bad of, is the Mexican war, I used to live in New Mexico/Texas/Mexico and there are Mexicans and Hispanics dominating the population. It should be part of Mexico, everything here in NM is exactly like Mexico, sure were the poorest states in the United States. But my blood is not Mexican, but I'm dark, and all the Mexicans here treat me as though I'm one, and I keep seeing Mexican tradition all around me, and Spanish all around me.

Why was this war fought? The U.S weren't happy that they did not have sea to shining sea, they didn't have California yet even, and they did not fight for the southwest or California for gold, but for territorial power.

I'll defend Mexico in this, becuase they had no reason to want to fight, they had a great empire, they traded with the United States, and here comes the US coming in and invading..

I understand the Irish were treated like cattle! Did you know they had to go into the Civil War because they were so poor they had to get some money? Don't you think it's awful to have them have to to, because Americans only needed them for war and no other jobs? Just cause they won against the Confederate Side, are you glad the ones who treated them like trash won? Heck, some Irish fought for the confederates because of that..

Dude, I understand what you mean by the colonialism is in some parts better, in my view the United States should have been part of Great Britain! India would be a lot better if it still was British! Kenya and Ethiopia too!

But that's not the point of war! I was talking about how everyone had to use the war lands and claim it and use all the Africans to go into war with them. That has nothing to do with the proper colonial treatment after the 1940s. I'm talking before the 1820s, before slavery was abandoned by the British, or French, or Portuguese. Scotland recently had an independence vote, and I'm glad they stayed, cause they might have turned fascist or dictatorship otherwise.

An island in the Indian Ocean, (this is my other country), where some African slaves went to, Buddhists went to, and Arabians went to, all part of my blood, is the Maldives, I'll show you a map if you need one, (don't worry no one really knows about it.)

They fought the Portuguese who were invading, and one of my ancestors help fight them off, but that was self defense, they were attacked, they were trying to protect their people...

Well, our nation is not doing at the best, but it's better than Haiti..

But no one's doing any good in attacking countries that have nothing to do with them!! Your wasting guns, your wasting machines!!!

2590242

Well, lunch break is almost over, and I have to go to classes, but before I go, I have the time to write this…

I never said that the Central Powers were worse than the Axis, I said they were far from worse, a long way away from worse than the Axis.

And that brings me to this point, if the United States never got involved, if the Central Powers won, what difference would it make? What was the difference between Germany and between Britain? To me, they weren't fighting for the sake of holding cultures, like WW2 was about, but they were fighting of who gets what, and hey! The Germans looked like they were going to steal Britain's land, so Britain had to go in. I don't think there were any care for the people, but rather, for colonial rights…

WW2 is different. The Nazis were way worse from the Central Powers, they killed Homosexuals, Jews, etc, so that war was more of a fight for survival, so I have to agree with you when you say only war would stop that problem..

I am bullied and harassed a lot these days, being forced for the desire of someone else, like slavery, that's going over the limit.

2590242

In my view, we should just end this argument..

Or you already stated that..

Nice debate, bye...
