200 Followers Get! Also, an announcement for the super-secret fic! · 11:56pm Jun 18th, 2012

Hey everyone, it's me. I'm not dead, honest! In fact, I've been plugging away at my latest work, the aforementioned secret project, for a while now. But before I get to more info on that, I'd like to make a quick celebration:

I've now reached 200 followers! Success! Seriously, thank you to everyone who read and enjoyed my stories enough to show me this much support. I wouldn't have gotten this far without you guys. And they say 2nd-person has a niche following...

But I won't bore you guys with any more self-pats on the back. Instead, I'll celebrate by letting you all know a little more about my current work in progress. You see, the inspiration for this story primarily stems from a certain desire of mine that deep down I know the show can't fulfill (for good reason), but would still very much like to see. One day, I decided that the best way to see it happen is if I made it happen myself, so I began work on it. I have plenty of ideas for this story, so much that this will be my first ever multi-chapter fic, far bigger than anything else I've ever written. Whether this turns into my Magnum Opus or ends up being way more than I can handle remains to be seen, but I intend to see this through to the end.

"So what the hay is this story about," I believe I hear you asking? Well, I'm still keeping that under wraps, but I will say this: It's much different than anything I've written before. It's not a sensual fic. In fact, no romance occurs in this story at all. It's definitely not a clopfic, either. I'll leave that to the many other talented clop writers out there. The only thing I will say about the plot is that since it's something I want to see the show itself do, I'm trying to mimic the show's tone as much as I can. That means a lot of lighthearted humor and cuteness to balance out the conflict. There will be plenty of drama, but also plenty of comedy.

And finally, there's the planned date of uploading. Since this is a multi-chapter story, I've been trying to write as many chapters as I can before I begin posting them. This is for two major reasons. The first is so I have a good start on the next chapter whenever I post a new section, which will (optimistically) lead to less time between new content. The second is a more personal goal: I know how painful it is to be engrossed within a great fic, only for the author to disappear or outright cancel it before it can be finished. I never wish to be "that author," which is why I've been waiting to release the story. I figure the more chapters I have finished ahead of the time, the less I'll want to bail out when I'm halfway finished.

As of this blog post, I already have the first chapter complete, a good portion of the second, and even just a little bit of the third. I'm going to give myself another week to make more progress on these chapters, possibly even two, before I begin uploading them. Regardless, the day that this story finally sees release is drawing close, and I can barely wait to see how it fares. Not much longer now!

And that's all I have to share for now. I'll get right back to working on the unfinished chapters, so bear with me just a little longer. Here's to hoping you all enjoy the fruits of my labor!

Oh, and once again, if you happen to already know what I'm writing, try and keep it a secret from everyone else. It's more fun that way. ;-)
