No seriously, I really need names for my Novel Chivalry Reborn. I've thought up of a few that don't sound overused, but the majority as just dumb. If anypony can think up a good name for humans or ponies, I'd be grateful. You can put descriptions if you want to as well. It'll make it easier to make imagery with one.
Also, still in need of a cover artist. I already have a friend proofreading my story as she goes, which is why some of the chapters have been updated. I don't really care if its Winston himself or just a shadow of a random person, but could I get something?

If you're in need of a villain name, use something in Latin. Everything sounds cooler in Latin.
PONY NAME MAKING POWERS, ACTIVATE!
(These names are based off of a pony's special talent. Therefore, I will suggest a name, followed by a special talent. I can only do pony names though; I suck at human names.)
Toothy Grin - Dentistry
Silent Shadow - Sneaking around
Baking Soda - Baking
Scribbles - Writing/drawing
Zoom Lens - Photography

But no, names are just names. Pony names are suppose to be kind of dumb, so as long as they relate to what the pony does it's going to be fine. But if you're really strapped for ideas, wikipedia has a list of pony names (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_My_Little_Pony_characters). Recycle some names, and It'll be fine.
As for human names, the only advice I can give you (and this is something I've been told) is that keeping cultural names together usually works well. Names like Fritz O'Shea sound weird, apparently. I found a human name generator online, and it looks like it works fairly well. I'm sure that if you use it a few times you'll have something you like. (http://www.kleimo.com/random/name.cfm)
But as I've said, names are just names, so don't spend a billion hours naming a character that only makes one appearance to serve tea or something.
Do the criminals change their names or do they stick to their old names? maybe Diego, or go for some common names that every other person has like, Steve, Bob or Juan. Not all criminals have diabolical names unless they pick nicknames for themselves.

They basically HAVE to change their name. For two reason
1.The Majority of them forgot their name along with most of their memories, so they wouldn't be able to. SWAP can identify who they were on Earth through records however.
2.Now that they're ponies, they need a name to befit them. Depending on their age and what they did on Earth, they'll automatically gain a cutie mark that befits them. However how they get a name you'll have to see..

To start, he's short than most ponies, (If he's a Pony or a Human) He's got a shirt (or maybe saddle, if clothing transforms) with A LOT of pockets on it holding various objects for- you guessed it- just in case.
Criminal Profession: thief, but not killer-thief. His Cutie Mark would be a set of Lock picks with an open padlock next to them.
Actual profession: A locksmith. Makes sense, right?
Color scheme: Black mane and tail, but dark green hide. His eyes are two different colors, one is blue, and the other green like his hide.
Personality: Generally charming. Prefers to use his head over his body to solve problems since he's not very strong. As a Human he had very deft fingers and could almost get into any locks that were not electronic (obviously in Equestria that won't be a problem). As a Pony...we'll see.
Favorite fruit: are Pomegranates.

And now for something darker.
Horse (not pony) Name: Rusty Chain (Horse because he's a really big guy)
Human Name: Sam 'The Slicer' Penslick
Criminal Profession: Abduction, torture, and murder (in that order).
Actual profession: He cleans and runs simple maintenance on warehouses when they're not in use. This made it really easy to continue his killing streak for up to fifteen victims before he got caught. Victims' ages ranged from eight years old to sixty three, were both male and female, and he used various methods of torture until they finally died. Occasionally he woudl even restore one or two of them to health before torturing them again.
Color scheme: He looks like a Zebra, but has no mane as he is bald as a Human. Both of his eyes are gray.
Personality: He generally seems grumpy no matter what time or type of day it is and generally doesn't socialize much. His parents were good people and tried to raise him right, but after being bullied and publicly humiliated through EVERY year of his education even stretching up into college, he decided to take a little revenge. The first victim he never actually meant to kill, but once he did he felt euphoria over it and began hunting down the others or close relatives of others that had mistreated him. He feels no guilt for what he's done, and has never purposely harmed a (what he considered to be) an innocent bystander.
Optional: One of those that had mistreated him in middle school is are one of the other people that wound up in Equestria, and all it will take to make him recall all the times he'd been picked on by him is to hear his Human name (the bully's, not his own).
Straight Shot: An archer
3411 how in blazes could a pony other than a unicorn(who could just launch the missile with their magic) use a bow? it requires more dexterity than any other medieval weapon
