Introduction to me and how I do things · 1:19am Sep 18th, 2014

I have never used a blog before, and I have never read any blogs outside the occasional bit of research, so forgive me if if commit any faux pas'. This will be a lengthy introduction to how I will be using the space that a blog provides me, as well as some explanation into the story I am writing, some other projects I have planned for the future, as well as a brief history of me, in case you are interested.
I will be using "Author's Notes" if I plan on changing the chapter they were attached to. It is a quick snippet of my plan and a bit of a disclaimer, really. I will be using this blog to answer questions should I have enough of them to warrant a full post. I will not use this blog to answer questions about stories that I am writing. I will respond to those questions with a comment. Questions about me, or my general plans will be answered here. I also plan to use this blog to rant about things pertaining to writing, my own and other's, in general.
Red was something I came up with when I heard someone say "badass little red riding hood." At first I laughed, then I thought for a minute and was all like, "Hey, that sounds interesting, I think I'll try that." Thus, a story was born. I understand people confusing it with RWBY, and truth be told, I was worried about it from the get go. I threw in little things to try to discourage parallel drawing, but I guess it wasn't enough. Things like, 'red riding hood,' and 'black hair' were my way of saying, "Hey, not RWBY, it's a Grimm thing." Oh well.
What can you expect in Red in the future? Well, glad I asked! Red will not be the only main character. She will gain an apprentice(s)??? XD Wait and see! I plan on bringing in a few more humans, and adding some elements of confusion to the mix. (Side thought, I should be more careful with the word 'elements'.) Also, I plan on going darker. Much darker. It will take a while, but I will do my best to make you cry. Honest.
What do I have planned for other stories? I have one I'm still working on, and you won't see it for quite some time. It was inspired a bit by Awakening, a story by solocitizen on Fanfiction.net. Mostly just the general atmosphere of the universe. It will be humanized, though I don't like the term. This will be mostly for convenience. Also, the main character will be some random dude. Still very early in development, and very subject to change. Don't expect it for a while. Oh, I should say it's sci-fi, since I didn't. My bad.
Any other stories I publish will be one chapter deals, varying in length. Most focus will be put toward Red. Expect more chapters there.
Also, thanks to everyone who enjoyed my first chapter! Your feedback is awesome!
I think I will end with a brief history of myself, then give you some of my favorite stories, so you have something to do while you wait. XD I apologize if this kinda felt like an essay, if not in subject matter and diction so much as format. I have done a lot of those. I am 17, though my birthday is in a few weeks. I live in Alaska, and for those of you who don't live in the U.S., Alaska is that really big one that looks like it should be part of Canada. There isn't a lot going on up here, butI do live in the Mat-Su valley, so it's not too boring. It's not Anchorage, but I get out. I watch too much Youtube though, and that's how I found this bizarre fandom. Not complaining, just saying. I enjoyed the show up to a point, but I kinda was like meh after a bit. Now I just read fan stuff, which can be hit or miss. Mostly miss, but at least they're trying. My stuff isn't much better, I just took several college courses on English. 101, 237, etc. I'm a senior in high school now, and I'm finishing up with British Literature. I'm a bit of a grammar nazi. XD
There you have it, hope you found what you were looking for. I will do my best to answer all questions posed to me, so if you have one, send it my way! And as for some exemplary stories that go above and beyond to impress me with not only an enthralling premise, incredible storyline, and engaging characters, but also manage to fit in near (if not) perfect grammar, spelling, and general display of a working knowledge of this language, check out the following. These are the stories that convinced me that writing fan fiction was not a waste of time, and was an art in and of itself. Thank you for reading this, and look for more in the future!

Awakening, solocitizen, fanfiction.net
Ponystuck, not sure..., anywhere (so many reposts!)
Last of the Dragonlords, fluttershy20, fanfiction.net
PONY, Police Operative and Nonparallel Youths, Godsavethekings, fanfiction.net/King of Hearts, this site.
White, Gray, and Black, Mayclore, fanfiction.net
And a Dark Wind Blows, RazedRainbow, fanfiction.net
Scion of Chaos (and all other related stories) SilentBelle, fimfiction
Fallout Equestria (and Project Horizons), you know where to find those.
Just about anything from Wanderer D. Especially The Sweetie Chronicles. Seriously, when can I read the next chapter? I've been reading it for years now.

That's about it. Thank you all! What are your favorite stories, and why?
