R.I.P Robin Williams

If I had to sum up my childhood with a single actor, it would have been Robin Williams. Aladdin, Mrs Doubtfire, Patch Adams, Jumanji, - so many movies that he'd been in when I grew up. I think I watched Aladdin to the point that we had to get a replacement VHS for it.

1: I'm shocked he battled with depression. I don't think that I knew that. He always seemed like a happy guy.
2: This sucks.

But I guess there is a lesson in all of this too, that depression can hit everyone. No matter what their life is like, who they are, where they come from, and that anybody can suffer from depression no matter their outward behavior or reputation.

I know a few people that struggle from depression, one of which is a extremely close friend, and it wasn't until my senior year that I found out in our sophomore year that he attempted suicide. I think he got the letter written or something close to that, but nothing further than that. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my friend to depression like this, or any of the other people that I've grown close to.

I hope that Robin Williams has found the peace he'd been looking for.
