Hey guys. I've seen a lot if movies recently, because why the fuck not? In case you were curious- and I'm really bored at the moment -here's the rundown on a few of the latest movies:
Lucy- A good movie overall, though it didn't take the direction I expected it to. One of the better ones I've seen recently, and on the coveted scale of Sucks-14, I give it a solid 10. Not mind-blowing, but a worth a watch.
Guardians of the Galaxy- Dude. I fucking love Marvel. And I think that GotG is an excellent addition to its plethora of comics-turned-movies (that don't suck ass, of course). I give it a 12. Now we play the waiting game for the Deadpool movie...
The Purge: Anarchy- Definately better than the first Purge (Jesus, I've only made it through the first half, and I'm not sure I have the willpower to finish it), but also a bit of a disappointment. I held it up a bit higher than it delivered on, but that's not to say its bad. I wish it would stop pretending to be a horror movie like that one uncle with the bed sheet with two eyeholes who calls himself a ghost, because it's a really nice guy, with a lot of promise- he just doesn't put in the effort. Not a personal experiance. I give it a 9. If you're into that kinda stuff, go for it. Or wait for Netflix or Hulu Plus or whatever you use.
Sex Tape- A funny movie that, much like 22 Jump Street, didn't pack everything I expected it to. It had its moments and it made me laugh and, thanks to the to-be-expected large amounts of sex jokes, giggled like an asshole. 10 on the scale.
Transformers: Age of Extinction- Jesus, another one?! It's like Hasbro is rebooting old, dieting toy lines in an effort to increase their profit margins! Those bastards! Anyway, this one sucked a lot less ass than the third, which I have yet to see- that alone should tell you the improvement Mark W. has brought to the series in approximately 5 less hours than Shia did. Anyway, the CGI is prevalent as ever, and if you don't care much for a deep story, I suggest it. With the ending, I sincerely doubt they won't make a fifth. 9 out of 14 because they should bloody end it already.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods- First off- I've seen, I believe, only the first 2 seasons of DBZ, so I had to get caught up by my friend as the movie played. Anyway, it was a good movie, one that reminded me just how much anime kicks ass and how I should watch it again. So much for being productive. I felt there weren't enough fight scenes, but hey, betters can't be choosers (in the sense that I agreed so I could get out of the house- don't get me wrong, I love my horsewords as much as the next guy, but one man can only be subjected to the indoors for only so long). I give it a 11 because it was that good and I seriously need to get caught up. Guess Team Four Star has me covered.
I hope these were of some use to someone, I just made them because I could, so why not? Have a good day/night, depending.
