Okay, I was bored, so I decided to try and see how much profit you'd make if Minecraftia was real and you started mining there. Have some boring math stuff.
Minecraft Maths
Average Swedish man is about 6 ft. (Mojang is Swedish.)
Assuming character is average height, each block is 3X3X3, or 9 feet squared.
65,536 blocks total in a chunk, according to Minecraft wiki. (16X16X256)
A chunk is about 5,308,416 feet squared, or 1005 miles, 672 yards squared.
34 gold per chunk
377 iron per chunk
662 coal
12 lapis ore with about 6 being dropped by each
15 diamond
90 redstone
296,422 square miles is average country size
2304 ft is 2D space of chunk
129 chunks would be an average sized country
If Minecraftia was a country, it would yield:
4,389 gold bars
48,633 iron bars
85,398 lumps of coal
9,288 pieces of lapis lazuli dye
1,935 pieces of diamond
11,610 pieces of redstone dust.
$325,600 for one gold bar (apparently), so in the current economy, you'd get $1,428,081,600 just from gold
A bar of iron is worth $5 dollars: you'd get $243,165 from Iron
Coal=??? (Can't find proper pricing.)
Assuming the dye would sell for the same as the actual gem, you'd get $126,316.80
Uncut diamonds average price is $3870. You'd get $7,488,450 from diamonds, give or take.
We cannot know how much redstone would go for, because it doesn't exist.
With iron, gold, lapis, and diamond alone, Minecraftia would make a grand total of.....
$1,435,939,531.80!
And because everything you need to mine could be found in the country, you wouldn't lose any money on equipment.
I'll get to writing stories in a jiffy, everyone. My last final is tomorrow, and there will only be a few times in the summer when I won't have access to wi-fi or have an opportunity to write. I'll elaborate more in the future. For now, ciao, and thank you for following me. :D
