Hey there fellow aspiring writers! I'm an artist (who really should have drawn her own cover photo by now), and enjoys stories regarding the Princess of the Night.

First chapter of 'Mage of Magic' coming out soon. · 12:02am Jul 28th, 2014

Here goes my first blog post.

After a year of procrastination, the first chapter of "Mage of Magic' is finally about to be posted! I have always been fascinated with the Idea of Twilight X Star Swirl shipping, even though they live at different times. I even made a group in hopes that more people would write about it. But of course, the best way to read a story about said shipping pair, is to write it yourself. And that, is just what I have done!
The title will be subject to change, as i'm sure I could eventually come up with a better one, but the fact still remains that i'm actually posting the story. This has been stuck in my head for the longest time, and only now am I actually writing it. Though I doubt many of you will read this blog post, I still ask that you wish me luck. I'm a beginning writer, and could use as much as I can get.

In case you were wondering, here is the story description.

Twilight's parents have arranged a marriage between her and a pony named Star Swirl. When Twilight finds out, she is not happy.
However, before she has time to dwell on it, disaster strikes.
A powerful unicorn named Sombra has begun taking over the country, destroying entire villages and towns as mere game. According to the breathless messenger, the nearest town, only two days travel, is already under his control. All mages who fought him have failed, even with their combined strength.
Burdened with this knowledge, Star Swirl immediately prepares for a long journey, one that he and Twilight will share. Legend tells of an enchanted book hidden deep within the mountain ranges, said to hold spells more powerful than the magic of ten skilled sorcerers. He believes it may be the only way to defeat Sombra before it's too late.
Throughout their mission, they will face many challenges and trials. They will make mistakes, learn new skills, and prepare for coming storm on their return. Together, they endure everything life has to throw at them. Each lifted with the knowledge that no matter the difficulty, they will always have one another. Twilight begins warming up to Star Swirl, even enjoying his company.
And then one day, the realization hits her.
She is slowly falling in love with him.
(This story is set in the same time era that "Romeo and Juliet" would have taken place in, but is not based off that story at all.)

I'm a little confused by it. So Twilight has been born, let's say, 1500 hundred years before FiM. How is this Twilight though? In the Nature vs Nurture debate, even if you strongly feel nature is by far the most important, you can't deny nurture has an affect. In other words, if Twilight is being raised in medieval times by a medieval culture, why does would she act like a modern Twilight raised by a modern culture?
And why wouldn't she be happy about getting an arranged marriage to Star Swirl? He's a very powerful mage who'd probably be a great husband, if her loving parents chose him. Where did she even get the idea that ponies should get to choose their mates instead of having a political marriage? Why does she care so little for her family that she'd risk weakening her familiy's influence through skipping the arranged marriage?

Sorry, I should have mentioned this. Its alternate universe.
In this story, they don't really know each other that well. Twilight is a bit antisocial, but not as much as before ponyville in the series.

I'm going to portray her parents being more kind and trusting in her, which is why she wouldn't be married off to other stallions who are jerks.
