I'm Alive! (And Other Related Tales)

I know it has been an absolute age since I posted anything at all. I'm just letting you know that I am still alive and I am still writing. In fact, I even managed to get a first draft finished for a chapter ten of To Be A Princess. Don't get too excited though: it's still a long way from being ready. In any case, I do feel like I have been being lazy with updates and lazy with writing, so I'm setting myself some deadlines and hopefully those will spur me on to get some stuff done.

Part of the problem was a major case of the block after the first few paragraphs which persisted for some three weeks. After some soul searching and taking some advice from fellow writers, I decided it was probably wise to take a break from writing and come back with fresh eyes. For the most part, this worked. I also made a start on a new project to break up the long spells of staring blankly at my computer monitor. As a result, not only do I have a draft chapter for To Be, but I also have the outline of something which I've been eager to do for almost a year.

The next story will be my first foray into writing a secondary character in the MLP universe. Two secondary characters, in fact: Suri Polomare and Coco Pommel. It has taken far longer to plan this than I had anticipated and I'm actually enjoying the process a lot more than I did when writing secondary characters in other universes. I think that stands as testament to the type of characters who occur in MLP. There is so much depth already, but expanding upon it has been such a joy. In addition, the story will not include any of the mane six, nor any princesses or other primary characters. It will be entirely devoted to Suri and Coco, individually and collectively.

So, with a bit of luck, over the next few weeks you'll not only see an update for To Be, but perhaps also something entirely new and different altogether. I hope you enjoy both when they come!
