I'm just going to number these to make them easier to name.
Anyway, last time I gave you guys a heads up on Chapter 3, I told you I had about 2,000 words written, with another 2,000-3,000 to go.
Well, right now Chapter 3 is 4,427 words, and I'm no farther along in the chapter than when I was at 2,000. I know the ending part will be roughly 1,000 or so words, and I'm just going to throw out the possibility of 2,000 more words before I get there. Perhaps more, if I can't get these characters to just shut up and do what I want them to do!
For those doing the math, I don't need to tell you what that adds up too. However, for the majority, that adds up to a 7,500+ chapter.
Now take into account that this chapter and the previous 8,000 word chapter were meant to be one. Yeah, I'm glad I split them up too.
Anyway, as for TES, I'm going to go back and revise Chapter 3 and 5 before working on Chapter 6. My pre-reader's been expressing a little niggling RPG feeling wafting from these two, and I aim to get rid of it. But more on that later.
For now, I'll see you in the beautiful light of day! Or not...
