What really got my attention with "An hour..." was that MLP:FiM existed as a TV show while Equestria itself existed as an actual world at the same time (Which I don't really see terribly often outside of completely non-serious parody fics). It would be really cool if it was mainly about our focus human comparing notes with Rarity and the other ponies about how closely the "real" Equestria matches up with MLP:FiM, as well as trying to discover if there are any pieces of fanon that are real in Equestria. It doesn't even need to have clop (though that's not to say that clop would be unwelcome).
