I learned that payphones are STILL a thing in some parts of the country. I also learned that 1-800-COLLECT is still a thriving business that'll charge you like 40 bucks for 6 minutes of talking. That means, for the price of your monthly phone bill, you can use 1-800-COLLECT for a whopping 10 minutes! 
STORY IDEA!!!
Pony A likes Pony B. Pony B is in a relationship with Pony C. Pony A is really awkward and a total nerd (watches My Little Human or something equal to that). Pony A and B have been alone together in prior events leading up to the climax, where Pony A makes it really awkward. Yet it's still sorta subtle because that's how awkward Pony A is.
Things finally come to a head, and Pony A and Pony B are finally placed in the same room together so that Pony A finally confesses (Pony C knows about it, and is completely okay with it because he loves his friends all the same, no matter what). Pony A and Pony B finally reveal their feelings, and... Pony B rejects him. Pony B does reveal that, if things were different, she would have dated Pony A. It's a bittersweet feeling, and it ends with everyone trying to cheer up Pony A.
If anyone wants to write this, feel free. People can use any ponies they want for the characters.
On a related note...
Dammit, Madarame was supposed to get his moment! He's one guy in that series that completely deserves it, and she would have completely stopped his self-destructive behavior. I totally ship MadaramexKasukabe, and it breaks my heart that they aren't together.

Yeah, the story idea here is supposed to be a sad one. Like, they both know it wasn't meant to be, but they had to at least let it be known.

Any characters that you want to use, as long as it makes sense. The idea is that Pony A and Pony C are males, while Pony B is female. But you can change the genders as long as it all plays out like the story prompt suggests.

It kinda has to be generic, though. I'm busy with other stuff to write it, and I'd be garbage at it anyways. Whoever else that'd be interested in it can pretty much do whatever they wanted with the prompt.
Next time, I could keep the prompt shorter, sorta like "love triangle that doesn't work out for the protagonist."
