History of Video Games · 6:12pm Jun 23rd, 2014
The video game industry began in the 1970s with the realease of the Magnavox Odyssey in 1972. The first games were simple ping pong games. My how things have advanced.
I started a project to collect footage from games of each generation, but I can't do it alone, so I'm asking for help. If anyone has the following systems and a means to record footage (VCR, DVD Recorder, or something else, but preferably directly to the computer for best quality), leave a response or send me a PM and let me know what game(s) you're willing to record. I'm looking for more exclusive titles for these systems, but if there's a multi-platform version of a game, such as Sonic Adventure, it'll go into the mult-platform category. If you want to record from a different system, go for it.
Anyway, the systems I need footage for:
SEGA Dreamcast
PlayStation 3/4
Xbox
Xbox One
Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo Wii/Wii-U
Mobile (iOS/Android/etc...)
The deadline is early 2022 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the industry, so you don't have much of a time constraint.
Happy gaming!
