I'm Not Dead, But I Do Have A Request

    Hey, readers.

I don't think I can actually call you people "readers," since I've only actually released one chapter of one story, but "Hey people who liked that one chapter I wrote, hit the little star, then forgot about me" doesn't really have the same ring to it.

Hey, readers.

I don't think I can actually call you people "readers," since I've only actually released one chapter of one story, but "Hey people who liked that one chapter I wrote, hit the little star, then forgot about me" doesn't really have the same ring to it.

I just wanted to post something to let you guys know that I'm not dead, and neither is HAM - I've just been spending my time writing a new, more ambitious project. I'll be shocked if this fandom isn't sick of crossovers before I start publishing it, but damn it, I'm nothing if not shameless. My new project is going to be a longer, more epic story called What We Hide, very loosely based on the plot of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. So if you like that sort of thing, I'd appreciate you giving it a look when it comes out!

And if you don't, don't worry. I still plan on writing HAM, and maybe some light one-shots, as a side project. I won't be offended.

I've also finally learned that I am a slow ass writer, so I won't start publishing What We Hide until I've got four or five chapters written.

Which brings me to my last point - if any of you have a good grasp on the English language and would like to preread my crap and help me edit, I would love you forever. I'm absolutely shitty at finding all my typos and broken sentences, so any help on that front would be awesome.

Stay classy, and hang in there.

141386 Thanks, man! I'll send the first chapter over when I finish tinkering with it.

That could be anytime from tonight to two weeks from now, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

141480 I wasn't before, but I am now.

I'll PM you the link soon-ish.

Also, how familiar are you with Majora's Mask? Not a dealbreaker or anything if you don't know anything about it, but it would probably be helpful to be getting input from someone who knows both sources.

141812 Don't worry about it. I'm actually not including a lot of things from MM - no Termina, no transformative masks, no constant time travel. Majora is the only character from the game that will appear, and I want to make it feel like a natural part of the setting rather than someone who just wandered in from another story.

I don't want it to feel like I'm just telling the exact same story as MM but with ponies - I want to use the basic framework (a bitter, lonely person gets ahold of the mask and uses its power to cause chaos and bring down the moon) and some of the themes (betrayal, having faith, metaphorical masks) to tell a (hopefully) new, unique story.

...And when I say it like that, it sounds way too ambitious. :unsuresweetie:

142116 Ambition's all well and good - if you have the skill to pull it off.
And thanks. I'll need all the luck.
