Oh, the wonders of school. · 12:49pm Apr 28th, 2014
I hate to be the complaining type, but I felt it necessary to tell you all about a slight problem. As schools oft are, the decision-making process is absurd, no matter how much they praise the wonderful location or the "new" building, here in my hometown. With a "Simple cleanup," the school managed to erase any and all data from the computer I use to do all my writing, and they did this without any previous notice, and without giving me time to back up my data. Even after I filled out the "Let me keep all my shit" form, they still cleaned out everything, instead of just the folder that they told us they were going to remove.
What does this mean for all of us? Unfortunately, this means that I've lost several prototype chapters, a handful of finished but unposted chapters, and twenty odd stories that had yet to be posted. As a writer, it's like watching someone set a typewriter, and all the manuscripts written with it, on fire. This means that chapters, which were already slow to come, are going to be even slower...
I really am sorry about all this, but we'll just have to see how things turn out, I guess.
Here's hoping all of you are doing well!
