My thoughts on the MLP universe being real: A resounding 'maybe' in parallel universes
If you can take a piece of paper and explain how the physics work, I don't see why there can't be a universe that works like the MLP universe.
Consider a child's drawing of a stick figure family on a piece of paper. That family exists in a 2 dimensional universe. They have the 2 directions of travel: up-down and left-right. (compare that to our 3 directions of travel: up-down, left-right, and back-forth). Another sheet of paper with a different drawing laid on top of the first one would be like a parallel universe. We are THAT close to another universe.
All we need to do is figure out how to travel in a 4th direction, and we'll have our ponies.
And yes, I know that 'Time' is considered 'The' 4th dimension since it's a direction of movement (we are always moving forward [or backward] in time). But I'm talking about another direction of travel that we can't perceive. I don't think ponies intersect with our timeline at some point.

I actually think transuniversal travel is a lot closer than we think. Think about the time between the industrial revolution to now: from 1750 to 2000, a period of only two hundred and fifty years, we went from having pretty much all tools handcrafted by artisans to mass produced computers being commonplace.
Technology is advancing like a sonofabitch now, whereas before, your average Roman citizen from the 1st century A.D. would find much in common with the technology and daily life of English people in the 15th century.

Maybe it's young American culture that hates kids, babies specifically. Or maybe it's just the kind of people I keep running into. I dunno. What I do know is that I'm always impressed and pleased when I find someone who doesn't think like that.

2042725 After you freed the first 20, I teamed up with 2 other people who'd managed to bridge the gap between human dominated Earth and pony dominated Equestria.
The three of us split Equestria evenly into thirds: one to be destroyed via nuclear and conventional weaponry, one to have all females fall pray to the influences of swag, and the third slice is where I simply moved my base of operations to.
On the scientific front, I followed someone who seemed to be extremely lucky. I've got her sedated in a back room somewhere and I'm working on excising her unusually large luck nodes. Currently, I'm having trouble getting new host bodies to accept transplanted luck fluids. Eventually, I plan on making a weak as piss-water synthetic version and marketing the shit out of it, making me millions.
So, in summary: many new sex slaves to displace the lost ones. Soon to be rich.

Even if it were possible, you'd still need to find them. As far as I know there isn't a multiverse version of Google.
2042874 I get the impression that if you can move "sideways" into another parallel universe at all, then it's simply a matter "moving sideways" enough to find a universe with the kinds of differences you want.
Assuming the parallel universes that are directly next to each other are extremely similar and get more dissimilar the further you travel from your home universe, then it's a matter of moving your ship "sideways" for a long enough distance, and then simply mapping the planets.
Alternatively, you can find a planet within your current universe and engineer the life forms to be as MLP pony-like as you want (whether things like magic would exist and could be controlled organically would be up for debate).
