New project - Rarity's Muse sneak peak · 6:11pm May 21st, 2012
The work on my next story has begun! I decided to call it Rarity's Muse. Whats the premise of the story? The Cutie Mark Crusaders are having a sleep over at Rarity's during a heavy thunderstorm, and keep distracting Rarity from her 'muse' a big project she had been working on for weeks. Rarity is very protective of the basement as well as her muse room, and is very persistent that nopony except her enters it. What exactly has she been working on for weeks? What is she hiding? Seems like three curious fillies might get more than they bargained for when they check out the room. This will be a single chapter, short story.

"GIRLS!" Rarity shouted as she barged into the bedroom. "I thought I told you to keep the noise down, and not to--"
"Annoy you when you have your muse. I know, Rarity, I know." Sweetiebelle replied on cue, cutting of her sister mid sentence.
"Then please keep it down, Sweetie. Do something a little more quiet, please!" Rarity insisted as she turned around, trotting her way back into the basement.
"Man...there goes that idea..." Sweetiebelle huffed as she flicked her held pillow away.
"Mah sister always says that smores are ah nice and quiet sleepover activity." Applebloom said excitedly as she placed a hoof on the now upset filly.
"Anything has to be better than sitting around doing nothing since we cant even go crusading tonight" Scootaloo insisted as she fixed her now unkempt mane, trotting over to join the others, Sweetiebelle smiling as an idea popped into the fillies head.
"Maybe we can go crusading tonight." Sweetiebelle said, gasping in excitement.
"Yeah!" Applebloom said excitedly as she chipped in, the three yelling in almost perfect unison soon after.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADER SMORE MAKERS!"
The trio of fillies happily trotted into the kitchen, quickly opening every cupboard in sight for their search for the smores.
"Got tha chocolate!" Applebloom excitedly said. "Sweetiebelle?"
"Got the marshmallows!" Sweetiebelle replied. "Scootaloo?"
"I can see...the crackers, but I can't reach them!" Scootaloo said as she kept jumping, trying to eye her prize on the highest shelf of the entire kitchen. "Sweetiebelle, Applebloom, come give me a hoof, maybe I can reach them!" The three all positioned themselves to hoist each other up n their shoulders, Scootaloo on top as the three stood on their hind legs. "Just a little...more....almost.." Scootaloo bit the packet of crackers as Sweetiebelle lost her footing, Scootaloo desperatly trying to hold on to something, collapsing the shelf in the process as all its contents crashed and spewed across the clean kitchen floor, the three fillies emerging from a cloud of flour smoke holding their prize.
"SWEETIEBELLE!" Rarity yelled from the doorway, mane a mess as she furiously, yet carefully trotted past the mess over the kitchen floor.
"Uh oh..." Sweetiebelle sadly said as her sister approached.
"Uh oh is quite the understatement, Sweetiebelle! You know how busy I've been these last few weeks, and I've told you time and time again, not to interrupt my muse! Now get this mess cleaned up and get-to-bed, please!"
"Sorry Rarity, we only wanted some smores, we didn't want to disturb you"
Ugh The mare grunted furiously, trotting back into the basement for a second time.
"Oh man, we cant have any fun while my sister has her muse." Sweetiebelle sighed as she bit on her smore, Applebloom quickly taking a second helping and shoving the whole thing in her mouth, chewing vigorously as chunks and pieces flew everywhere.
"Shes been like this for weeks, Sweetiebelle, what exactly is she working on?" Scootaloo asked, stopping mid bite of her smore.
"I wish I knew. She locks the basement nearly all the time and her muse room is off limits! Just walking past it makes her cross with me!"
"Ah....say...we investigate!" Applebloom suggested, mouth full of cracker. Sweetiebelle quickly perking up as a look of worry crept onto her face as she spoke.
"Nonononono! We simply can't just walk in there, I promised Rarity I wouldn't" Sweetiebelle said with pride in her voice.
"Ah spose ya'll right. We best be gettin some shut eye, anyway" Applebloom said, yawning as she settled down on the fort of pillows, getting comfortable.
"I say we check it out, I have a feeling about this. It could be cutie mark related." Scootaloo said, interrupting the two as she trotted towards the bedroom door.
"Scootaloo, I promised!" Sweetiebelle said as she urged Scootaloo to stay put.
"What your sister won't know, wont hurt her, come on!"
"But I will know, Scootaloo" echoed a voice slyly as Rarity came into view, Scootaloo quickly backing up as the mares demeanor became more serious. "Stay out of my muse room, and out of the basement, two very simple rules, my dears. That, and keep your voices down." Rarity said as her demeanor suddenly changed, now much more cheerful and happy. "As much as I hate this dreadful weather, I need to head out for something." Rarity stated as she put on her rain coat, Scootaloos fear quickly calming down. "Remember, curiosity killed the cat!"
ANYTHING involving the CMC is usually good. I like the idea of this project.
