Okay this is just a little rant about a certain Season 2 episode... to be specific I mean Episode 21: Dragon Quest. Don't worry I still love the Mane 6 but how can they treat Spike with so little respect?
I understand by dragon years he is technically a child but if I recall Twilight hatched him when she was like what 4?5? That's only a difference of a few grades! My point is, despite Spike looking younger he isn't technically a child in pony years but more of a teenager.
Also, Spike does a lot of work to be insulted so openly by almost the entire group when he boasts about being a dragon. This exact scene is the very symbol of why I dislike Rainbow Dash. Even Rarity who figured she was helping insulted Spike in the exact same way Rainbow Dash was except of how she said it.
My next problem with this story is how RD, Twi, and RR wouldn't even trust Spike enough to go find who he was on his own. They took something that should be best discovered alone and soiled ot with what they thought was right which to me was pretty much "Interfere because you're too stubborn to let people mane their own decisions."
Now I'm not saying it was smart of Spike to go off to the dragon nest without thinking what would happen butnif I was their and I found out Twilight didn't trust me to take care of myself I would be incredibly hurt regardless of what situation I was in. They then go on and try to say that it doesn't matter what Spike is as long as he is part of the family. Um fucking scene closes on a picture of the Mane 6 "family photo" with a seperate picture of Spike TAPED ON. They didn't care enough about him to even include him in the damnable photo!
Somebody PLEASE explain why Spike puts up with the crap that the ponies put him through! Maybe I missed something ot misunderstood it but come on! Spike should just tucking leave if they don't care about him or respect him.
I apologize to anyone who has to read this and if you think I'm an idiot now then sk be it. I'm writing another story so it'll be out soon to make up for this rant.
why does he put up with it? i know the answer to that its hard to get if you yourself have never experienced it ok im 19 years old ive worked with my mom for years 5+ years (spike worked with twi since birth basically so hes worked with twi longer then i have with my mom maybe 10+ years im guessing) in home renovations i love my work placing tiles down putting drywall up building portches ect the very thought of quiting my job to work for someone else makes me nervous as shit i dont know how to do anything other then the job ive done (same goes for spike more so) now my mom being mom shes really irritated before she eats (empty stomach and sweating bullets with the sun in your face isnt a good combo) so the littlest thing can set her off she yells at me pretty loudly infront of our co workers which is humiliating to me but i dont quit i stay i would rather work this awseome job and get chewed out by the person i love dearly then man a cash register at some restarunt getting chewed out by a boss i know little of
thats done sorry for the long ass rant i was makin sure you got the picture if i try to answer the others there wouldnt be much room to do so xDD oh the 3 that followed spike i believed they did the right thing i woulda done the same regardless of circumstance i wouldnt be surprised if twi told spike right to his face "sorry spike i dont trust you yet to be on your own you are just a baby dragon to me." knowing spike he would say "ya i guess i still have a lot to learn thank you twilight" trust and untrust is only a trivial concept when the outcome helpes in the end if it didnt help spike THEN i can understand and say it be wrong of them but there concern for him was spot on, if that trust issue would hurt you so deeply and you were spike i would have to say "tough get over it i was worried about you something wrong with that?" And i would procced to hit you on the arm if it was lmfao xD plus that picture thing in the end dont consider everything to be "story related" maybe they put that scene with him taped to a frame with the other ponies to make the situation or the ending funny i certaintly thought it was amusing xD if you saw cranky donky episode and noticed derpy floating in the snow globe did that have anything to do with anything story wise? Poor example i know because derpy is like a find waldo kinda thing but still xD if you wanna talk more i have skype message me for the username we could talk like that im not fond of writing such big paragraphs unless im RPing xP
So short answer is because hes most confortable where hes at hes done it all his life he knows nothing else transition is hard as hell, and because twi and the gang are his family so them talkin shit to him is no difrent then my little sister kicking me in the balls for shits and giggles will i up and leave the house to live else ware just because im treated with little respect? Hell no >w> i know without me my sis would would receede within herself because of self consious reasons and despite messing up at work with my mom i proved that im more capable at the job then other men twice my age and experience so she needs me theres your answer i love my family and for family i can put up with anything my family throws at me xD
Thanks for helping me understand why he stays. I'm 16 so I have a little work experience but I still feel Spike is very unappreciated. I mean come on... I find it hypocritical for Twilight to call him family yet he has to tape a picture of himself onto the "family picture". I also still feel that he should be given more respect considering he is technically only a few years younger at the most.
if i got you to understand even alittle of what i said and why spike does what he does im satisfied
^w^/ wait till you get a job aint nothin more satisfying then a hard days work and then relaxing at home afterwords once your done with school, life basically stops >w> you quickly get bored haha xD buts its about the paycheck we all know this is the reason why anyone really goes to there jobs xP
