Season 4 First Half Recap · 10:33pm Feb 10th, 2014
Okay, since we're halfway done with the fourth season, let's review what has happened so far shall we?
Princess Twilight Sparkle Parts 1 & 2: Discord forgets to tend his garden weeds so the audience Twilight gets to witness the destruction of many fan theories. Also, new story arc involving keys and rainbows. 9/10
Castle Mane-ia: The Mane Six fuck around in that one castle from episode 2. 6/10
Daring Don't: Daring Do is real. Holy shit. 7/10
Flight to the Finish: The CMC get some great writing. 9/10
Power Ponies: Spike and the Mane Six go all JL/Avengers in this episode. Too bad the pacing and plot are unoriginal and suck. Still cool to watch though. 8/10
Bats!: Applejack once again falls into the stereotype of 'Unreasonable Pony Supremacist' that has fueled so many goddamned fanfics that portray the ponies as horrible monsters. Also, Fluttershy turns into a vampire. Who eats apples. Cute. 8/10
Rarity Takes Manehatten: Rarity gets screwed over by some bitch and goes all PMS on her friends. 9/10
Pinkie Apple Pie: The Apple Family goes on a road trip through hell with Pinkie Pie. 7/10
Rainbow Falls: Rainbow Dash forgets the meaning of loyalty. Again. And has to relearn what loyalty means. AGAIN. Also, Derpy gets promoted to supporting character. Yes. 7/10
Three's a Crowd: Discord FINALLY appears in an episode that does not shake up the status quo, in which he screws around with Twilight and Cadence and makes them fight a graboid. 10/10
Pinkie Pride: Pinkie Pie versus Weird Al Yankovic. Also, live action Gummy. Wow. 10/10
Simple Ways: A love triangle forms between Rarity, some hipster named Trenderhoof, and Applejack. Rarity wants Trend, Trend wants Applejack, and Applejack gives exactly zero fucks. 6/10
So far this has been a fantastic season. I'm seriously willing to bet money that season 4 will be the best yet. 13 more episodes to go people!
