So I had a nice 3,500 word chapter of Shot in the dark for you guys and I had it saved on my computer instead of saving it on the internet cause I don't trust the internet with my work.

Son of a bitch computer decides to fucking delete all of my damned work. Not only did it delete that, it also deleted EVERYTHING. I'm surprised I still have internet fucking explorer .
GOD DAMN MICROSOFT.
Well, my fiancée is screaming at them for me, so I don't have to deal with the stuck up assholes at our best buy.

See, this is why I downloaded Open Office to both my desktop PC (before it started acting weird) and to my laptop just as soon as I could. It's totally free (forever!), and has just as many features as MS Word, if not more. I highly recommend it to everyone I talk to.

And if I might make a suggestion for the future? You might look into getting an external hard drive for situations like this, so you don't have to worry about another crash. I know that that's what I plan on doing, and I'm sure that you can get them with a good deal of storage for not a whole lot of money.
I just wish that I'd thought to got one before my desktop PC started doing what my bro-in-law Steve calls a "reboot loop" back in June of 2012, because a lot of my fic stuff (including my summaries and character descriptions) and art was (still is) on it.
I'm hoping to get it fixed soon, though, so I can transfer the most important stuff to my laptop, because I do most of that kinda stuff on it now, anyway.
And if you'd like, I can either post a link to the Open Office website here in this thread, or PM you with it. Whichever's easiest for you.
