Update #1: "Dragonborn" Chapter 2 Progress + EqD! · 6:47am May 11th, 2012
Good evening everypony. Ness here, with an update on the progress I've been making on the next chapter to "Dragonborn". The main idea I wanna get across in terms of the formatting for the story is that each chapter is split up into individual scenes. The names of those scenes can be found at the top of each chapter when you click to read it. Chapter 2 has roughly around 5 individual scenes which in turn will make it lengthier than Chapter 1. In fact, I'm actually expecting the word count for Chapter 2 to be well over 8,000 or so.
However, because of the length, Chapter 2 may or may not be published this weekend like I had hoped.
Yes, I know that's a bit of a disappointment. But I assure you that it will be worth it in the end! A lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm focusing a lot on the meat and bones of the story and how I'm going to go about writing it for people to enjoy.
THAT and I easily get distracted. In fact I shouldn't even be writing this right now XD
In other news, it was just confirmed that "Dragonborn" is headed to Equestria Daily!
I'm just as excited as Twilight is! Seriously though guys. You have no idea how much this means to me. I openly admit that I'm not that talented of an author. While I do enjoy being a storyteller and sharing my ideas with others, I've only had experience doing that via script format for audio dramas and original films. So the fact that my very first story managed to achieve as much critical acclaim as it did, really inspires me. Seeing so many people favorite the story and praise it not only makes me want to improve my writing, but it also makes me want to go out and tell the best story I possibly can.
When I first started writing "Dragonborn", I had my beliefs that people would hate it. But low and behold, it was a success. You guys are what drive me to do my best. So really dishing out a well-written story is my way of giving back. So I can only hope that viewers on EqD will enjoy it as much as others. But I'm not willing to get my hopes up.
