So #DWM finally won. · 6:53pm Jan 18th, 2014
For those of you that didn't explore much of the brony side of tumblr, there was a blog called Ask Princess Molestia. It was run by a user that went by JJ, and based off a story about Princess Molestia. It spawned a rather large following in the brony community, and went mostly unnoticed for quite a while.
Just recently, within the last few months, a campaign titled Down with Molestia (#DWM) surfaced with the intent of ending "the reign of Molestia" and the blog she lived on. They achieved this once in the infancy of the campaign, and multiple times since, by using Tumblr's report system. Because there are just so many blogs that the devs and moderators can't keep up, they use a system that after 100 reports, automatically shuts down the blog. The figurehead of DWM gained a rather large campaign very quickly, and used this to abuse the auto-takedown system.
Even more recently the DWM campaign has grown larger than the Molestia fanbase it's self, and has gone on a full scale warpath. They have repeatedly abused the auto-takedown system to get rid of the Molestia blog, but JJ brought it back every time. Now, DWM has taken it to the next level.
A few months ago a 2D side scrolling fighting game called Fighting is Magic received a Cease and Desist order from Hasbro for the sale of the game. This caused a huge ripple that spread throughout the brony fandom, and gave the leader of DWM an idea.
Some time within the last few weeks a member of DWM, or the leader it's self, contacted Hasbro. Hasbro has since sent a C&D to Tumblr, causing the take down of the APM blog for the final time.
The flame war has even spread to derpibooru. They even have their own, very small, tag.
The Molestia blogs may not come back from this, but the followers will surely remember what happened.
Edit, some farther research has brought JJ's statement to light:
This blog wasn’t deleted because of some cease ad desist. It was deleted because it was getting spammed with whiteknight hate mail.

Damn. I heard about this around fimfiction in the short time I've been back (by the way I'm back, missed you) and don't quite understand what's going on. But it sort of reminds me of the Burned Furs, this coalition of furries that made it their personal goal to try and ban all public signs of yiffing from furries by doing...well, whatever they could. But I didn't realize Hasbro gave the Tumblr a C&D. I mean, I can sort of understand Fighting is Magic, but not this. There's hundreds if not thousands of way more inappropriate, lewd pieces of MLP content out there.
*sighs* The Burned Furs really damaged the already-negative public image of furries, and I guess all this drama might do the same. I think the drama is the worst thing most fandoms have to deal with.
That's kind of the reason why I tend to stay away from sites like Tumblr and derpibooru
1731532 First, welcome back. I missed you too.
Now, I was reading the back log of JJ's new APM blog, and found a post saying that it was "a spam of whiteknite hate mail", not a C&D. I'm not sure if that's true, but it might be. (I also edited it into the blog)
1731558 Yeah. The other day someone spammed me with whiteknight nonsense after literally I had just been back for a day. *sigh*
1731589 White knights are one of the most annoying parts of any fandom.
1731766 I think I have a basic understanding of the term, but can you clue me in as to what exactly it means?
1731769 Basically anyone who sees a cause and thinks that they need to defend their side of the cause unto death. They do anything and everything to make their side seem like the better.
1731777 Huh. Alright.
