Question

After a comment on a story where one of my ponies was used by a friend I started thinking about my ponies' names. My friends receive them all well, but I wanted to get additional opinions anyway.

Are these good names for ponies?
Night Shield: A nocturnal unicorn with a talent for making magical barriers and shields. Alive back in the two sister's first rein. Has a slightly younger sisters, parents were killed during the rein of Discord.
Mended Hoof: Night Shield's younger sister. Prefers the night but will keep any schedule her superiors require of her. Talented in healing magics. Her left hind leg was badly mangled during a war, it's still crooked and she walks with a limp.
Bright Star: Bat-pony. I haven't decided what his natural talent is yet. He was once a Nightmare Loyalist, meaning he accepted Nightmare Moon's actions and wanted her to succeed. Night Shield reformed him and he became Night Shield's assistant.

If not what would make better names?
