There's already a remix of I am Just a Pony

Are you cereal? The song hasn't been out for 13 hours, and it's already a thing. Why can't I work that fast?

    Finally pushed more writing out

It's short, and the time between it and my previous update is not reflective of the work I put into it. I put it out cuz it seemed like good enough filler until I can properly plan the next major event in the story. I'm trying not to rush the plot like I did in my previous stories, and I really want to make sure I get it right with this one, even if it takes eons.

What do you think? Planetside 2 · 2:14am Jan 2nd, 2014

Life sucks and then you die. Truer words have never been said. I thought I was on my way to make something of myself, but it turns out that because I'm not like my parents in every single way, I must be treated like an infant. The year is not 1980, it is 2014, and I am almost 20. If I could just be trusted to make any decision at all, I would be so happy. I watch MLP, I play video games, and I am going to be a mechanical engineer and a responsible adult. None of those things contradict each other. What I would give to make everything simply meaningless and not worth fretting about, and I could be my own man. Where did I go wrong? When I was born? When I graduated high school? When I decided to say no to something my parents said I should like? Maybe it's none, but's it's probably all of the above. I thought I wanted to leave Rochester because I was homesick, but now it feels like home doesn't want me anymore.
Sorry you all had to read that. I had to vent to someone, and none of my personal friends are here at the moment. Anywho, onwards and upwards to tonight's review of Planetside 2. Explaining the premise of this game is very simple; make a big map, throw in a lot of people, fight. Also make it free. If Call of Duty or Battlefield feel like your playing a round of a game, then Planetside makes you feel like you're playing war. There are no brakes between rounds, because there are no rounds. The fighting is constant. Battles for specific facilities can go on for hours, with hundreds of people fighting at once. It's an experience you get from no other game.
My thoughts on this game were not positive at first. I only started playing it because one of my friends did, and he raved about it, so what could I do? After a while, I felt like the game was OK, but I was struggling, to come to terms with how slow the gunplay was. Times to kill were much longer than in any other game I'd played, and at first it frustrated me, especially since I was an Infiltrator with a PDW and everyone else seemed to play as Heavy Assaults or MAXs. I will discuss why I hate HAs in a short while. After a while, and a few guns later, I discovered a way to counter this, using a combination of a hard hitting rifle, stealth, and wide flanking routes. 5 kill tears became not uncommon for me,
One thing you cannot deny about PS2 is that the taste of victory here is sweeter compared to any other game. Being part of a 40-50 man rush is truly awesome to experience, especially once you see the results. Taking out a group of people in BF or Blacklight feels good, but it is nothing to wiping out an army with your own army.
That said, I have a few gripes with this game. First off is that the class balance, especially among infantry, needs a lot of work. The main game breaker is the Heavy Assault class's shield, which makes them invincible with still being able to shoot, in addition to their already ridiculous health pool. No other class has anything to counter that with. I would say MAXs, but HAs also have rocket launchers, so they can take out anything. If ever there was an OP ability, it is that shield.
Aside from the terrible class balance, I believe it is a good game to play with friends. There is always fighting, there is aerial and ground combat, and the whole package is free. That's right, free to play is a good thing for once. Download it now, and play as Terran Republic. No one else.
