What Happened to A Tale of Eternity?! · 5:35pm May 4th, 2012
Well folks, if you are one of the few people who actually read my story, "A Tale of Eternity", you might be wondering what happened to it, and why it doesn't seem to exist anymore. Well it's quite simple: I removed it.
Why, you ask? A simple lack of interest, from both writer and readers.
When it comes to larger stories, I often find it hard to summon up the willpower to follow through with it, especially when I am doing so for few-to-no readers. Mostly my fault, because of the long hiatus between chapters, it seemed that interest in the story had waned. The same could be said for me. I was actually getting tred of he story, sinceit was essentially a retelling of The Neverending Story which, a fantastic film as it may be, can get tiring the more you watch it. My heart's not in it anymore, and rather than tarnish my reputation by writing a shoddy story, I decided to pull the plug on it.
But another reason, is that I have other stories on the way that are piling up behind it. I can only write one big story at a time, and as well as a new short story, I have a new idea for a big story too. It is kind of similar to "...Eternity", in that it follows the story-within-a-story theme, but it is told in a very different way. That, and I have decided to illustrate it as well.
You can expect the first chapter of this anytime now, but first of all, I need some suggestions from you guys. This story will involve interactions between Rainbow Dash, and a younger character, a foal. Thing is, I cannot decide which foal character to go with (I don't want to use an OC): It needs to be somepony innocent, young, and sort of naive as well, the sort of foal who would be greatly interested by storytelling and fantasy.
So, if anypony's reading this, feel free to name names down in the comments for whom you think would be the ideal foal for the job. In the mean time, I'm off to get the cover illustration and the first chapter done! Here's hoping I can get this baby on EqD this time!
Pip was honestly the first one that came to mind, so I'll cast my vote for him.
As for the story, don't worry about it, man. You do what you have to do. I'll look forward to reading these new stories you're working on!
