idk how to start · 3:25am May 2nd, 2012
I want to start up some series, but i a horrable story teller and my grammer skills ssssuuuuuccccckkk. I have a general idea of what i want to do but im also not sure if ill even be able to write some good stories at all. If anyone is reading this can you give me some tips on writing a story.
I know it's several days after you've officially posted this, but I just saw it and saw no one responded. I just thought I'd step in and take a whack at giving you some advice.
The only way I know to get better at writing is to just keep cranking at it. Write until you're sick of it and then write some more. If you do it long enough, correct spelling and grammar will come more naturally over time. Reading lots of stuff is also a great way to brush up on your grammar.
As for content of stories, you really never know what will be good until you start writing. Good stories don't write themselves, easy stories write themselves. Good stories require blood, sweat, and tears. No one hits it out of the park on their first try either. Just get the first one over with and let people tear it apart if they decide they need to.
The most important things is to just enjoy yourself though. If you don't enjoy writing or if you don't finish a chapter/story and say to yourself, "worth it" then you're doing something wrong. Besides, if you don't even enjoy your story, who will?
And have some confidence in yourself! Most people write just because they think they're geniuses whose ideas are plated in gold and poops are made of silver!
