I swear to Discord if I come across one more cliched fic about heat I'm gonna-
I have been writing to this site since the brony craze basically began and not one of my fics gets included featured screen. One writer makes a fic about heat "Oh GODS above drop everything and make some room up on that featured board because that is the most original piece of writing I've ever seen!". So tell me... why do people come to this site, again? Is it to read things with subjects they want to hear about, simply put into the MLP universe, or do they come here for pornography? I have no problem with the NSFW writings here, really, but I count four up on the featured board at the time of this writing and all of them are admittedly... aren't that original. There's nothing new up there, no interesting plot devices or strange twists... it's the same nonsensical slurry of clop that people come to this site for, never sign up for, and leave with on a daily basis. I feel like I'm overstepping my station here, complaining about something that garners this place so much traffic, but... really? We're worse than Apple shoving the same slurried, outdated technology down people's throats and saying it's great stuff. IT'S THE SAME REGURGITATED FECAL SLIME EVERY TIME I LOOK AT THE FEATURED BOX. The worst part is... all of them revolve around one stupid subject. Heat.
So tell me, anypony who even bothers to look off the featured box, what would you rather read? Four trillion fics about estrus, or perhaps something with actual points in it. I leave the answering to you.

Well, you know what they say, sex sells. And while I enjoy clop like the next red-blooded brony, the featured box really isn't a great place to find it.
It's all automated, though, so for better or worse, it does reflect the patterns of users on the site. Wish there was some way to filter that though.
As for heat fics, I have a very strong opinion on those, but I think I'll post about that elsewhere.
