    Mass Effect: Lost Sons

Shameless self-promotion is shameless self-promotion. I have joined forces with three other people to write a Mass Effect fanfiction, an idea that began as a single "hey here is a random idea" on the SpaceBattles forums and then exploded from there.

This does not (hopefully) interfere with Enemy Unknown writing.

Deleted scene from Innocence Once Lost

Guess what I found while going through my notes to check if I had messed a timeline when writing Enemy Unknown. A deleted scene. I had put this scene away because, well read it and you get the idea. It's one of those "We need Deus Ex Machina here" and I am not fan of those. This was supposed to be the opening to the battle.

    Writers block, DEFEATED!

I finally got over the writers block that had been plaguing me. Today, I finally got how to write down what I want and the chapter went from 2500 words to (what is now) over 3700 words, with more to come.

So, good news is, I will most likely finish the chapter by tomorrow and have it on my beta for checking soon :D

Peek at rewrite of The History of Human War

So, since BronyReynard happened to ask about this, I thought about posting some peek at the rewrite. Here is a rewritten version of Book Chapter 1 (AKA first history page). For those interested, this version is 2 753 words long, as opposed to 2 328 of the original. Most work has gone to making it easier to read and grammatical fixes. Still not perfect, but it's coming there.

Deleted scene from Innocence Once Lost · 8:36pm Nov 24th, 2013

Guess what I found while going through my notes to check if I had messed a timeline when writing Enemy Unknown. A deleted scene. I had put this scene away because, well read it and you get the idea. It's one of those "We need Deus Ex Machina here" and I am not fan of those. This was supposed to be the opening to the battle.

A flash in the night sky suddenly alerted Saral that something was wrong.

“This is Final Argument to groundside command, please respond!” A radio crackled alive.

“Final Argument, what the hell do you think you are doing breaking the radio silence?”

“What is the final argument?” Celestia turned to Saral, taking her gaze off from the advancing horde of the changelings and dragons.

“FA-7 just launched a warhead! They went rogue!” A panicked voice from the radio said. “We took them down, their ship is without power, but the warhead is still heading straight towards the enemy! We do not know the payload, it could be anywhere between few kilotons to thousand megatons! You need to evacuate!”

“Reich und Gott...” Saral gasped. ISA was in need of serious purges. To let something like this happen... Then she looked up and saw that the flash she had seen earlier was falling down. “REICH UND GOTT! EVERYONE! SHIELDS UP! SHIELDS UP! COVER YOUR EYES! DO NOT LOOK AT THE ENEMY!”

“What the-” The High King started but Saral cut her off.

“DO IT! YOU TOO PRINCESSES! SHIELDS UP!” Saral screamed. Luna took one look up and gasped.

“You maniacs... SHIELDS UP! SHIELDS UP!” A shield formed around the army, a crackling pink-white field of energy obstructing the view outside. “Close your eyes!”

“What is going on!” Celestia said, turning towards Luna and Saral who were covering their eyes.

Then a second sun flashed into existence. World suddenly went silent, Celestia swore she could hear a pin drop down. Color disappeared, as the world become either blinding white or black shadow, removing everything else. She didn’t dare to turn to see what had caused such light to appear.

Then the noise came. Horrible, horrible noise that promised to swept aside anyone in it’s way. The light disappeared and Celestia finally dared to turn around. She saw the ground open up and rise in the air, as a shock wave tore it. It was followed by a wall of fire. They both impacted against the shield that flashed bright, Celestia could feel how the force that was hitting them was trying to tear apart the shield. She had never had been so scared.

And yet, as quickly as it had began... it ended.

“Saral...” She slowly started. “Why... did that just happen?” Celestia asked.

“Why you have weapons of mass destruction on the orbit?” Luna finished, clearly agitated.

“Do we have a visual on the enemy?” Saral asked the soldier next to her, ignoring the questions.

“SARAL!” Celestia shouted.

“Sir, we are receiving visual now. The soldier said.

“Well?”

“Just a moment Sir, we... Reich und Got...” The soldier said, backing away from his console.

“What?”

“It’s alive.”

Everyone turned towards the center of the detonation... only to see a green dome covering the enemy army. A dome that disappeared, revealing unharmed army in front of them. An army that charged once again.
