So...dat Season 4, huh? · 1:52am Nov 24th, 2013
Hey. Been a while. Yeah, I'm a lazy flank, so there's that. Truth is, I'm just occupied with school and a NaNo unrelated to ponies and a few other things (3DS games and GTA Online mainly).
At the LATEST, I'll get back to it by my winter break, which is my month-long break during and after Christmas, so I have the end of December and most of January to get back into it. Besides, with Season 4 around, I'll be plenty motivated!
So, let's talk Season 4, by the way! First thing I want to point out is AHMAGAWDTHEANIMATION. Good lord, the lighting, the mock depth perception, the animation just keeps getting better. And what better way to show just how fluid the animation still is than with laughing at Twilight's awkward flying? Anyway, I honestly thought the reveal of who this "threat" was was...very interesting, to say the least. I won't spoil it, but maybe you SHOULDN'T second-guess yourself when it comes to figuring out who it is. And it does a great job at setting up a future objective for the Mane 6, as well as establishing that barely anything has changed in Twilight's personality, barring needing to take charge when she absolutely has to. So yes, for anyone avoiding Equestria Girls like the non-canon plague, Princess Twilight is just fine. The flashback sequences were REALLY cool, even if they didn't seem to add to the plot at first (which is kinda lampshaded anyway). And although at first I do kinda get the point of "We can't risk Equestria's last princess dying or something" the rest of the Mane 6 made...they should be way smarter than that considering this HAS TO DO WITH THE ELEMENTS, WHICH YOU NEED TWILIGHT FOR, YOU DOLTS.
So yeah, I enjoyed the two-parter, even though I needed to watch a play-back on YouTube because I had stuff to do 5 minutes before the end of the second episode on the stream I was watching, so I got robbed of the ending until a half hour ago. Oh well, I did manage to avoid spoilers because I stayed away from opinions until then, so go me! XD
A couple more things before I go:
1. Targeted more at stream-goers, please, for the love of Celestia, when moderators say "stop with the R18 jokes about the branches that we KNOW you're making right now" THEY EFFIN' MEAN STOP. Save that for private chatrooms or your own YouTube videos or something, just dial it down a bit for live airings, alright? It's not so much THAT it's you-know-what jokes, it's that it gets really, really old much faster than a Derpy sighting, cause at least I can smile at that.
2. Yes, I know about the obvious joke of "The Elements used to be Rupees!" I should know because I JOINED IN ON THAT ONE on that stream I was on. It was indeed incredibly funny to think of that.
With that, see you guys later!
Edit: Also, if I may shamelessly promote myself making an obvious joke about the new episode...I present to you The Legend of Celestia.
I did take one thing from it; an idea for my big project.
The Tree of Harmony.
I wonder how it'll fit in?
