Well damn, but I just managed to watch episodes one and two, and I had such a great time! They've really gone and made a fantastic start for this season, what with the animation and storytelling this time around being just... Slightly different in a good new way. If people have been complaining about what they saw, then I'm guessing they simply want to complain rather than enjoy something clearly better than a lot of what was on offer last season by quite a ways. (Not that season three was terrible, but there were of course some... Questionable choices)
I love the new canon for both Nightmare Moon and Discord's defeat, as well as all the other interesting new elements that should prove very interesting over the coming months. I have a feeling that this season's finale could be... Something wonderful, if they manage it correctly. However, I do hope that all of the episodes this season are of at least a reasonably good quality, and so I look forward to what is on offer! 
Oh, and for those of you worried about QCAMT, I have one word that should explain a lot: Exams
Basically, amidst the study I'm working through chapter three and it should be ready soon. Oh, and yes, I have always planned to have Season 4's beginning appear in the fic, after at some point marathoning seasons one, two and three for Chryssy off screen. 
I just wish exams would finish so I could finally bring the story up to October at least 
Even though I'd just have ignored it and forged on anyways, I'm still relieved that the new info doesn't really mess with my timeline for the TAS continuity.
Fun episodes, and I can't wait to see what's in the box!
